Affleck was never in doubt for me. I was happy with his casting and even though I hate the Batman that he represents in the movie; I'm sure HIS ACTING is good. He cannot help the portrayal that Snyder forces down his throat. The real problems with the film that you defended are Eisenburg and Doomsday. And the critics consensus on both is that they're not good; definitely not highlights.
The general consensus is that the whole cast is great. Many critics actually thought Eisenberg was one of the strengths in the movie, while Cavill was the weakest.
Originally posted by Zack MI found FAR more reviews stating that Eisenburg is bad than good. Far more. Perhaps the fan/twitter reactions are different but the reviews aren't kind to Doomsday or Eisenlex. But yes, I did see the reviews stating that Cavill's Superman was wooden too; though most of that is undoubtedly on Snyder.

I've only read a handful, so I'll take your word for it, however, all the early screening reviews that I posted many pages ago have stated that Eisenberg was actually good. So, maybe it's a 50/50 split.
I guess I'll just have to see Friday morning. I did predict even as of the 1st/2nd trailers that shoehorning in the Justice league member appearances might drag the movie down, and it turns out that is going to happen I might enjoy this film less than some of the more recent Marvel films. I honestly don't give a rats ass about Aqua Man, Cyborg, or Flash and if the fight for Doomsday is just an excuse to have them in- points should justly be taken off.
The darker tone, Batman killing people, and Superman being inherently less interesting than Bruce don't bother me.

Perhaps the biggest problem is that all three had to share the movie with Eisenberg, who is turning in his best impression of an unfunny Michael Cera as Lex Luthor. Luthor is rich and weird, but in Batman v Superman there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why he's being evil. His characterization makes him into something like a less frightening Joker without a motive. And by the end of the film, you're itching for Lex Luthor's death, but not because he's some kind of grand villain. Rather, you're just hoping that the subsequent Justice League movies won't have to deal with him.

Actually, I've heard that the WW parts are pretty good and Gadot is one of the highlights of the movie.

Just an example, of one one the MANY negative Eisenburg reactions:http://www.vox.com/2016/3/23/11291550/batman-v-superman-dawn-of-justice-review
This confirms my fears over this film.
Another thing is the hypocritical weirdness of how Batman is initially all up in arms about the shared destruction between Zod and Supes, only to join in a worse sh*tstorm taking on DD.
Bad effect on the general plotline.

All I'm saying is critics are just a few people really, whilst the GA is like everyone else. The film is called Batman V Superman. So the tone fits 1 of the 2 main characters. And the more popular one at that. And to top it all, the film is specifically about Batman trying to take down Superman. You think anything but a serious tone would suit that?
If the tone varied to meet each character, then the criticism would be the movie's tone is all over the place aka The Amazing Spider-Man 2. In fact Justice League which obviously will be about 5/6 different characters has already been confirmed to be much lighter in tone.
A film has to pick a tone that suits it.
So unless the tone just seems out of place in the film itself, I don't buy this criticism of "Oh it's too dark!" Look at TDK and Netflix Daredevil. Doubt this movie will get darker than those.
LOL @ CPT and Quanchi crying together over me.
It could have easily incorporated some minor elements to suit the other characters while keeping with an overall dark tone. instead they decided to pick a tone that only fit 1 character in the movie. I get it, you like Batman so you're ok with them ignoring how their choices effect the fans of other characters involved.

Is anyone in it other than Bats, Supes and WW? I've not seen them mentioned, but I am trying to minimise my exposure.
One critic says there is a part in the movie where the other guys all get their own "trailers" of sorts vis-a-vis data-tapes or something. So maybe some segments showing off their super powers? Dunno, not seen.

There was a very simple way to make this movie enjoyable as f*ck.Having Batman beating the living shit out of Superman. Like, breaking his bones, crushing his organs, removing his penis, that kind of stuff. People from all countries all over the world would love it --- except for only SOME Americans.
