Cavill just has no personality. He has been boring in everything I've seen him in.
You can't blame the actor if he's given no dialogue in the script whatsoever. There was seriously some uncomfortable scenes due to a lack of vocal interaction, especially with Lois.
Remember when Routh saves the plane then turns to the passengers & assures them that flying is still a safe option.
That reassurance & gaining the public's trust with light banter is what was missing.

He was in Tudors too.

Some other things that I didn't like.Spoiler:
Yes, Batman does indeed kill people; and he does brand them which is stated that if you have the brand it's a death sentence once you get into prison...so yah. If he doesn't blow you up in his batmobile, or shoot you with your own weapon, or stab you in the chest and throw you down a 1 story hole in the ground.....then he'll make sure you die by Bat-branding you. Sigh. Fk Hack Snyder....seriously. But other than That Batman was pretty cool.
I honestly had no problems with Bats being as violent as the crims he fought. It might work in the cartoons but it would've been silly if he just hog-tied them for the cops after they tried to shoot & murder him.
But I think you're missing one aspect of the branding.
Spoiler:
He branded a sex trafficker & later on the news, it was claimed, he also captured & branded a "known child offender".Marking them for death, in prison. Suffice to say, he doesn't brand everyone he captures.

only issue with the movie ready is that it's 3 movies crammed together where a sequel to Mos, a new batman and the team movie would have been far superior. The basis for all three are there but they sacrifice fleshing those 3 stories out by fitting them all I to the time of just one.Lex luthor was a good character but eisenberg's inability to act hindered it from being a truly good villain. Lex simply doesn't act like that, even a junior lex shouldn't.
Mos 2 would have been decent if it was allowed to exist and that may be the biggest crime committed
I agree.
Spoiler:
There really should have been a MoS 2 with small Batman cameos/buildup to B v Supes. The segments that adressed the events of MoS were fantastic and I loved how it digged into Clark's mindset/insecurities. But nooope. **** That. Give me that Avengers money now. Without working for it. Sigh.Unfortunately Warner Bros was too greedy and just rushed everything. The bitter fan in me wants Justice League to be a complete and utter failure so they learn their lessons.
That being said Afflek was good, Cavill was good and WW was ok(Didn't really get much screen time to make an opinion, but at least she kicked ass. )
Lex Luthor was awful. I liked his plan but this portrayal just ****ing reminded me of Joker. I detest it. And the JL related cameos and resolution felt so forced.
Sigh.
Eissenberg's Luthor is by far the most deranged Luthor, and not in a cold blooded methodical way, but in a more chaotic way. His mannerisms were too comical and/or off.
I don't know. Why can't we get a serious Luthor? No silly crap. Just a serious Luthor. Would fit the tone of the movie much better than what we got.
I just don't get it. He feels like the type of villain that would work on Superman 1-2 and/or Superman Returns. He feels completely out of place in this movie, which is what hurts the movie the most because IMHO Luthor was the key.
Like PR put it...just a good actor with bad direction or no direction at all.
Serious JL cartoon/comics Luthor would have worked so much better.
^ Nice to see a lot of you enjoyed it despite the film's problems (which you all agree it has some).

That was so funny. I literally cracked up laughing at the end.
For me maybe the fight between Batman & Superman could'eve been done better, Their reason's to fight each more so with Batman
Like you have
Spoiler:
Superman doing it because Lex is forcing him to do it because he has his mother hostage and Batman wanting to do it because of his fear of Superman...should'eve had Lex forcing him to do it over something too but keep that reason a secret from Supes

Giving this movie a 7.5 out of 10
I'd say a 7/10 for me. Pretty disappointing in how everything played out and the editing was atrocious times. Still, there was some things I really liked. Primarily WW and many people cheered with her action debut. Ben was solid as Batman, but not as good as Bale, IMO. I do think he has the potential to be just as good, if not better, but the potential was lost in this. I liked the cameos for the most part, but the Knightmare scene was forced as ****.

Spoiler:
Eisenberg/Lex does mention that he's living in his father's shadow...My impression was that it was slowly driving him crazy trying to live up to those expectations, even though the father was long since dead. Kinda like Dafoe slowly losing it in Spiderman.

I haven't seen the movie but the decisionSpoiler:
to have Batman kill people seems really, really stupid and a lot like purposefully kicking a hornets nest after the backlash from MoS.
That's kinda the point. Once you see the film yourself, it's really not out of context & not as black & white as hearing people claim he does it.
