What contradiction have I made?I've simply pointed out if I want simple popcorn fun that I wouldn't hesitate taking my son to see, it's Marvel.
If I want serious & gritty & not have to explain what a "sex trafficker" is to a 10 yr old, then DC it is.
How exactly is that rivalry?
That's the contradiction.

Never said Marvel was just for kids.
Was my son entertained with every Marvel movie I'be taken him to?
Yes.
Were the cinemas filled with both children & adults?
Yes.
Was my son interested in the Batman Nolan trilogy & previews to BVS?
No.
Was there children in the cinema to BVS?
No.
Once again, it's not about rivalry but knowing what to expect.

Btw, at my showing on Thursday of BvS, there were tons of kids. Lots of young adults too.

You're really either missing the point entirely or just want to troll.
I have no covert agenda here. I'm simply stating my opinion. Not trying to change yours or anyone else's.
An opinion that has nothing to do with rivalry whatsoever.
And your comment about my son being the barometer for other kids & adults is simply ridiculous. Have you ever sat in a cinema next to a child that found the movie boring? Not a pleasant experience.
The review effect won't apply on opening weekend.
Bad as this movie was, it is 'historic'.
I don't like Snyder or his direction, so I want him to fail, and go down as the guy that messed up Batman and Supes' first time on the big screen at the same time, as well as Wonder Woman's first time on the screen period, and Aquaman's etc.
Originally posted by juggernaut74Not sure why you still don't understand. This movie had MASSIVE pre-release ticket sales. People were hyped as hell for it. It's not a surprise whatsoever that it made a bunch of money. What WILL be surprising is if it keeps making tons of money after the initial weekend.
So apparently this movie made 82 million on Friday, how can a film with such bad reviews make so much $$$?Don't make sense.
Originally posted by ImpedimentTo each their own. I didn't HATE the movie but I definitely feel like it's time for Snyder to go away. I don't enjoy the DCU he's made. MoS could have worked as their Iron Man; but Snyder's Iron Man 2 (BvS) was just as underwhelming to me. Though, if I had to pick one to watch over it'd be BvS because as bad as Eisenburg is.....Mickey Rourke had no fkng business being in the MCU.
I still think that it was awesome. Not perfect, but much better than I expected.
