Not bad.

Is it just my morbid sense of humour but did anyone else laugh or groan at the fact that they depicted

Spoiler:
Joe Chill as Middle Eastern?

Lol the couple sitting next to me thought I was laughing at the actual deaths of Bruce's parents.

Didn't even know he had a name the killer of Bruce's parents

all i know is they like to keep a mystery.

Apart from Burton linking the murders to The Joker, it's always been a junkie by the name of Joe Chill.

I like how Z is still trying to convince everyone that it's a great movie.

Hey screw you guys.. I really liked it.

Sure there were some editing problems and some very forced Justice League scenes, but didn't ruin the movie IMO.

And for the record the theatre I was in applauded it at the end. Although one random guy intervened when he heard me say it was better than TDKR Lol

The movie was enjoyable but it wasn't perfect.

It's just silly people saying it's too grim & dark. You can't pay homage to Miller's storyline & make it light hearted.

If I want characters called IronMan fighting villains called Ultron, I'll take my son to see a Marvel movie.

But if I want grim, dark & edgey where sex traffickers get taken down then I'll gladly watch & expect all that in a film with Batman in it.

I'm probably going to see this today.

There was also one for the Batman/Superman comic, Where Lex implicated John Corben (Metallo) who killed his parents

Yes because a Marvel movie can't have that...... 🙄

You can still give Superman lighter, more empathic movements when stuff isn't hitting the fan. DarkBatman is fine, but it's best if Superman contrasts him.

I think tone of the movie was fine given what they were setting up. Superman's personality was still right by the character (mostly).

And to be honest, it wasn't as dark as people made out. I was expecting Punisher level or something going by what people were saying.

TDK was a lot darker.

And which Marvel franchise do you imagine them taking down sex traffickers or branding & putting a child molester in jail?

GOTG?

I totally agree. Supes NEEDED to be lighter than Batman. The film needed the Good Cop/Bad Cop balance. Superman should've already been used to his role as hero & saviour not brooding that he still didn't fit in.

I guess that scene he has where

Spoiler:
Pa Kent on the mountain top admits he was wrong
was the focal point of Supes finding his true place on this planet but it happened too late in the movie nor was he given any chance to show his change in attitude towards mankind because of the big battle finale.

The Marvel movies have had mass Suicide Bombing attacks, heroes straight up killing people, heroes being killed, villains killing people and some stuff that I can't think of right now.

I know you are probably going to down play this but let's knock off the DC is adult and Marvel isn't nonsense. Grittier doesn't automatically make something more adult. It just makes it grittier. It can still be handled in a silly childish way.

Heck there are 'children's' movies that handle adult topics better than some gritty, dark movies do.

I'm just tired of seeing this kind of argument happen on here. It's not a black and white thing where DC is more adult while Marvel is more for children.

I'm tired of hearing the apparent rivalry between Marvel & DC, like it's gangs battling over turf wars but that doesn't stop certain posters here from preaching the Us & Them attitude.

I really enjoyed it. Sure it was no Avengers, but didn't need to be really. And I'd say it was a slight improvement over the last solo outings for Batman and Superman.

Oh and everyone starting applauding when the film ended at my theatre. Guess that was like a F**** You to the critics.

My issues:

1. Could have cut out a few scenes. Movie didn't need to be that long.
2. Jesse's madness started off ok, but got annoying later on.
3. The Wonder Woman entrance music was horrible.
4. Justice League cameos seemed very forced. In fact that whole scene was pretty random.
5. I actually felt the main Batman v Superman fight was the most boring fight in the film. With all the hype of it being Batman v Superman, that part was a let down.

My score 7.5/10

👆 This along with some certain other posts pretty much sums up my thoughts on the film; a real mixed bag. Certain scenes were done really well, while others horribly.. 6.5/10 for me. Personally, wouldn't put this above MoS, but can maybe see why some would if they liked it enough or a bit more than I did.

Actually did like the Wonder Woman entrance music though, upon first impression. My opinion on it may change later, but it was the only music I can think of from the movie that felt at least somewhat fresh compared to the replayed Hans Zimmer tracks we heard before...

Have heard some bring this up on occasion, but isn't Jesse actually Alexander Luthor in the movie, not Lex? Kinda softens the blow some, in which case, his laughable performance aside.

Try the Punisher, Smartass

the Garth Ennis stuff

and yes you have brought up the comics side of things before.

Plenty of "dark" street-levelers can have that. Nothing special about it.

DC had their one chance and failed miserably, deal with it.

I thought we were discussing the Marvel movie franchise specifically.

And how was WarZone considered by critics?
Too dark, too grim to be part of Marvel's continuity on screen.

If The Punisher was owned by DC, it would've been accepted more easily by the same critics.

Says he's tired of DC Vs Marvel....

What contradiction have I made?

I've simply pointed out if I want simple popcorn fun that I wouldn't hesitate taking my son to see, it's Marvel.

If I want serious & gritty & not have to explain what a "sex trafficker" is to a 10 yr old, then DC it is.

How exactly is that rivalry?
