Superman Returns came out during Smallville. Also the viewership for the Flash show would be like 3 million people. The movie would target way way more people
then explain why marvel's agents of shield which on a major and perhaps better network gets just about the same/similar amount of viewership?? Yes but no one actually saw Supes Returns since it was a major flop.. they could and should, still people who might like the upcoming tv show may not want to spend $13 plus dollars at the theater

Either they should have attempted The Flash on a bigger network and made it part of a shared movie Universe, or they never should have done a Tv series for him at this stage when they are planning JL.
And all the main plot lines from the show came directly the movie script. No idea why they didn't just do the film.

watching Quicksilver nearly steal the show (i say nearly 'cause i thought Magneto was the best part of the movie) in DoFP got me super pumped for prospect of a "The Flash" movie. I could watch that "time standing still" stuff all day, and just imagine who amazing it would be considering Flash is >>>>>>> Quicksilver.
Quicksilver basically was The Flash in DOFP. He was ridiculously fast/powerful.

i know he talks a lot so it seems like the voice of many, but Quan is only actually one person.

which is really why they should have the flash as well as arrow a part of a shared cinematic universe but they won't

tbh, I think Shield has been largely shit so far, so I'm not sure sharing a cinematic universe with a TV one is inherently a good idea.
Considering they refuse to do solo movies for everyone before JL, it'd be nice to have a background to at least some of the JL characters in some type of format.

True, but given budgetary limitations, I'm not sure TV is the best way to do that.
Tbh I'm quite impressed with the special effects we see in the trailer for the Flash series. Either way people generally accept that things will look better on the big screen.
But hey, I'm with you I'd prefer a solo movie to a tv series. But if they use the tv series to give 1 more character a background and origin story before JL, then that's better than nothing IMO. Don't like the idea of just having an Origin story/Solo franchise for Superman and no one else prior to JL.

The reason SHIELD was shit was because it was stalling for Captain America 2. Once Cap 2 came out, SHIELD got awesome and shit hit the fan

I don't like it either. At least 3 or 4 of them could have carried a solo movie easily, but no, they have to ****ing rush.

I don't think that excuses bad writing, tbh. It did improve, but it's still a long way away from living up to its potential imo.

The TV show doesn't dictate the film(s) though and if you don't watch the TV show you're no worse off in terms of film continuity.
As far as I could tell, the TV showed revolves somewhat around the films when aspects of the stories cross, but they're still largely independent of each other.

I'm not disputing that; but it was advertised as being part of the same world, and look what happened.
What others are suggesting WB do, though, would be far less distanced.

not if everyone is on the same page.. having arrow and flash apart of their Cinematic U would mean two characters people would already know, so you don't have to spend any money on their origins, plus fans would clearly watch the film even more and then when arrow and flash are brand new , people will watch

Of the 30 million people who will watch Justice League, maybe 3 million will be familiar with the CW flash and arrow. I'm not against the idea, but it's not financially beneficial for WB.
