It's not difficult. The first movie could just be mainly him discovering his powers and using them to fight street crime, leading up to a sequel on Professor Zoom. They are making a whole Tv series, so I'm sure a couple of great films could have been done. If you can make even 1 great movie that's enough for character popularity. Then it doesn't even matter too much if the sequels suck(especially when they are going to stand out again in a team movie)- Just look at the Iron Man franchise.
Funny this sounds a lot like how the MoS story/film went, but you had a huge problem with that. 😆 😆 😆 😆

the people or should i say idiots that are casting this film need to hand over the reigns to someone else..

Mamoa was a good Drogo because he physically looked the part and acting wise all he had to do was be stoic, glower and occasionally grunt in a made-up language.
His acting in Conan was pretty awful.

that one rape-centric speech he had to pump up his men was epic. he acted the hell outta that scene.
You're right about Conan tho, it was unwatchable and Momoa wasn't good either. i didn't even get half way through it.
Originally posted by RobtardI haven't seen Conan, but I'll take your word for it.

Still, I'm willing to give the guy a chance. From what I heard, he was one of the only actors to read the book in preparation for his part in Game of Thrones. He also turned down the role of Drax the Destroyer in Guardians because he didn't want his kids to see him repeatedly typecasted into the retarded brute character. He wanted to broaden his horizons to set a better example. He comes off as a pretty sincere and intelligent person, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. This may be his biggest role ever, so I'm thinking he'll do a ton of prep work for it.

if that's all Aquaman is gonna do, then that's a pretty shitty Aquaman.
Aquaman is an articulate character; always has been.
I don't mind Momoa as an actor, but as i've said in other threads, he doesn't look the part to me, at all.
I really hope it's just a rumour.
Variety confirms about Momoa..

The casting department over @WB needs to be fired and more competent people need to be hired
