Here's my take
Marvel and Fox are putting out the comics faithfully and exactly as they are in comics - but making them bigger and into movies
DC - Is taking the same characters, who aren't as team oriented as Marvel is, and making big films that are as much movies that involve superhero's with the directors take on how it would look in a modern setting rather than faitfully reproducing the source material
Eisenberg is going to be a Google/Facebook type of billionaire who's motives will leave the movie-goer's undecided if he actually has a point. I don't know what the story will say but I'm positive - after the polemic of MoS (which I belive was intentional) that Luthor will bring up a damned good point. Superman's existence paints a huge target on humanity for every would-be conqueror or enemy he makes. Every fight he has could destroy the city or the world. Only Lex can rebuild the city and save mankind by making it stronger
He'll have a point to a degree. How many villains are around just to show up the hero's. The trick is if they can strike the balance to show that yes, Luthor has a point, but what's Luthor going to do if Doomsday, Darkseid, Mongul or any of the unstoppable forces that only Superman can stop show up?
Affleck and Gal Gadot are the big question marks. I'm sure Bat-fleck will be a more mentor-like version of Batman but if he can get Bruce Wayne right anad Batman's intimidating presence, he could be good. I'm not sure he can, Affleck seems affable, not frightening. I think Affleck's Batman will be physically ominous and threatening and more the detetice gadeteer that always has a plan
Something tells me gadot has it in her to have the screen presence. I don't trust Goyer - he has great concepts but his dialogue is awful. If The writers can really really give the hero's the dialogue and the actors pull it off - it will succeeed.
Everything about DC is more majestic. marvel is starting to look a little repetitivr and barring the soon to break every box office record in history Avengers, they're starting to look frmulaic. DC is far more majestic and its stories are bigger somehow.
In MoS I felt more "oh shit" moments that the world was in deep trouble if Superman didn't get the job done and everything didn't work ut just right than in the still amazing DOFP, in which the world was a dystopian nightmare with everything riding on Wolverine,Prof X and Mystique. The end was great and the fianl scene was something, but it wasn't the same as seeing Superman have to battle Faora and suddenly realize that for all his power, he's outnumbered and if he doesn't find a way the world is doomed
