Avengers 2: Age of Ultron

I was hoping for a surprise Spidey cameo. Something like Tony meeting Pete and taking interest in him after seeing how brilliant he is. Would've been a great set up for CW. Sadly nothing. There is a fake AOU after credit scene on youtube with Spidey in it and it's wonderfully done. It was so good that Marvel actually had to make a statement and say it's fake. At least that's what I heard.

What you heard was true.

Problem is the Sony deal was done too late, and Peter Parker hasn't even been cast yet.

Watching all those trailers and TV spots really ruined everything for me, i feel so pissed off at myself because this is truly the biggest regret of my life.

With that being said the movie was freaking awesome!

8.5/10 🙂

I remember watching that fake spiderman post credit scene made for Age Of Ultron, quite decent.

Watched it last night. Enjoyed it. Still not sure where I rank it, will have to watch it a few more times.

I'll give a brief review:

Spoiler:
Overall I liked the film. My initial critiques are as follows:

1) Once again, character power levels are off...Hulk losing to Hulkbuster Iron man is a shame. Now, general public will think that Iron Man> Hulk>Thor...which is just lame. Granted Iron man got to cut loose and Thor was just trying to reason with Hulk in their "Fight"...but still, it was annoying...fight was cool though.

2)Ultron was not really developed enough for my taste. I didn't mind his "plan" at all, and as was previously mentioned; the only reason he didn't just nuke the globe right away was because of Jarvis/Vision. But for a movie that is named after him, I found his origin and screen time very lacking. While he was on the screen, he was good, and Spader does a great job with the VO, but....yah, I hope we will see more Ultron in the future.

3)Whedon likes to take Thor out of the picture so much it's worse than the comics...In fact, Thor's only really good showings in the movies so far were Thor 1 and some of Avengers 1 (near the end) Other than that, he's been a colossal disappointment in terms of being close to his actual power levels. Hulk wasn't as good the second time around either..... All I know is that they both need to step up their game if they want to beat Thanos....

There are other minor quibbles but to me those were my main issues. Like I said, I really enjoyed it. I'd say my gut reaction after 1 viewing is probably an 8-8.5 / 10. Will need to watch it several more times.

^

Spoiler:
I share all your critique especially about Thor and Hulk, but after watching it twice I honestly can't give this movie more than 7/10 personally. Whilst I give Avengers 1 10/10.

I just feel like both Thor and Hulk were underused. Thor's true power could have (and should have) been shown in an Epic 1 v 1 against Vibranium Ultorn at the end. Hulk vs Hulkbuster was used to market the movie, but aside from that Hulk didn't do much Imo. Which is quite surprising given he doesn't even have his own solo movies. Plus yeah IM Hulkbuster getting the final smack down on Hulk gets a big 👇 from me.

This movie has some Great action sequences and special effects. Probably the best in any superhero movie to date. But I can't help but feel it relied on that too much.

Just my view anyway

I would ask why, but I don't want the movie spoiled. Then again, the Tomato Meter and posts such as yours tell me it's already spoiled. At this point, I just hope I like it. If not, then I hope the Russo brothers can do a better job and all the other movies make up for it (even the DC ones).

Still better than any Superman movie, though.

Well, that's no surprise, anything can surpass Clark films.

It's definitely not a shitty movie. Had some of the best and longest action sequences in any superhero movie.

But it's not on the level of Avengers1 or Cap2 IMO.

Does it have better action than MoS?

I like it when a movie is fun. This movie was opposite of fun though. It was boring and too caught up in one liners. No sense of drama or danger, Ultron being a pussy, hugely anti climatic climax etc.

In short, shitty movie is a shitty movie.

I thought it was fun, personally. It had its faults, sure, but they didn't ruin the movie for me.
