Avengers 2: Age of Ultron

It's not going to be a problem, but there is virtually no way this is making 600 million.

Over at the Box office forums, people are pretty disappointed it didn't break TA OW record. 😂

Anticipation and hype was too big and thus people predicted this too high. It won't break TDK adjusted or Spider-Man.

You sound very happy Golgo!

But if you adjust for inflation I doubt TDK or Spider-Man are above IM3. Maybe on par (approx) but not substantially above that. AOU should easily make that much with an almost $200mill OW, and being a much better film than IM3.

😕 Adjusted for inflation, TDK made 604 M domestically. That's WITHOUT 3-D. it also sold more tickets than Avengers and any comic book movie to DATE.

Spider-Man adjusted made 564 M as well.

89 Batman made 511 M domestically, without 3-D and IMAX bumping up it's sales. Also, sold more tickets than The Dark Knight Rises.

That's adding an extra $70mill to what it actually made domestically. Add another $100mill to it's ww total for inflation, and we are talking IM3 numbers like I said.

I'm talking WW. But yes Domestically you're right TDK is close to Avengers 1 money domestically. And yes that's without 3D.

Ares is also right, that international markets have heavily expanded in the last few years (since the days of TDK).

How much money would 3D have added?

The weekends not over. People watching the boxing last night will catch this film today most likely.

But it broke A1's opening day.

I'm not going to call this film bad or terrible when it has at least 3 Great action sequences, and a couple of decent character moments. It is good. And it will match or surpass the Original's box office Imo. Down to it being good plus building on the hype of the first, and Marvel's continuing growing brand name.

But in terms of quality it has some clear faults, and is definitely not on par with the First IMO. And most people I've talked to seem to feel the same.

If it doesn't exceed A1, I would what Marvel will think? Will they shoot for a better movie next time or will they just include Loki in more scenes?

The coming weekend will give an idea whether this movie has legs or not.

Man, think what Batman 89 would have done in it's WW gross, if it's as expanded as much as today! 😱 Even the original Superman would have done close or exceed Avengers/Iron Man 3.

BTW, TDK sold around 74 M tickets, while TA did 64-67.

MOS pulled in 116 million, and that was after coming off a disappointing Superman Returns. Him and Bats together should do good numbers but we'll see.

128 M if you count the Wallmart screenings. Adding Batman and a uber marketing campaign, i'd say this has a shot at overtaking Iron Man 3 at the very least.

Won't matter anyway as this will make $ 1 billion plus

and do not cry because you're own words that you just said will defeat you if Batman v. Superman doesn't live up to all the hype and under performs

Presumably Yeah.

But Box Office doesn't always work like that. Look at IM3 or the Transformers movies.

So I think this will make as much as A1. Of course If it doesn't they know they've got Spider-Man' s box office draw to add next time.

Watched this finally. I enjoyed this movie a lot. I will have to rewatch it a few times but honestly this might be better than the first Avengers in my book.

That's odd because he went into hiding and was able to prevent Ultron from access the nuke codes. This wasn't anything Stark told Jarvis to do, Jarvis took it upon itself to do this. That's free thinking right there.

When Stark uploaded that other A.I. F.R.I.D.A.Y. i was thinking of Jocasta, Not sure if that's going to happen now

all depends if Marvel Studio's is following the comics where it seems Ultron is defeated but still finds a way to come back.
