Why does all literature place Sidious as strongest sith lord?

I'd say most people have little respect for Vitiate because so much of what is attributed to the character owes to Sidious. Even the most recent development, with a reborn Vitiate striking out at a chaotic Galaxy with an advanced fleet originating from a top secret throne world.... All of that should sound uncomfortably familiar.

When you have a largely unexplored era and an opportunity to do something fairly unique with its big bad and instead imitate an established villain... A lot of people look at that as weak writing.

Remind me how that is similar to Sidious?

Dark Empire.

That's not exactly the same thing or even close to it. It was remnants of the Empire who were loyal to Palpatine. Far cry from sith vs. Jedi and then having a 3rd completely different, unknown empire coming in. But if you want to reach, be my guest.

Nah, the two situations are pretty similar.

Sure, if you break it down to their most generic elements.

Things don't have to be identical to be similar, Beefy.

I didn't say they did. They're only even close to similar when you generalize.

There's also the fact that DE is god awful, and just about anything BioWare does will probably be better.

Yeah, I'm not sure about your own personal qualifications for what is and what is not similar, but I think the two scenarios are a lot alike.

Well look folks...

Sidious is not the strongest Sith Lord, but surely he is the strongest Shit* that ever lived. 😉

I think that accolade belongs to Agen Kolar tbh

Except Revan, the novel...

Well, Vitiate is a pretty weak character, but to be fair, so was DE Palpatine. I only really enjoyed Sidious as a character up to and around RotS. Afterward, he was more or less the generic evil overlord, and he lost some of his earlier traits.

BioWare didn't write Revan. Drew Karpyshyn did, and even that was better than DE.

Never read DE.

Its wiki page makes it sound bad-ass. Palpatine resurrected, Luke becoming his apprenctice and whatnot.

What most people do not get, is that Palpatine is the greatest Dark Lord of the Sith, no doubt, but...

If you think that quotes about Sidious refer about his personal strength in the Force, than that's a very limited of your understanding of the word "power".
One(Sidious) doesn't have to be the strongest in order to be the greatest.
