The narration was meant to clue the reader in. You pick and choose and ignore the other attacks to come up to the Abhilegend conclusion that Groot can hurt Thanos while ignoring the rest of the attacks along with the narration.
Spider-Man beat Hulk straight up making it a false comparison either way.
