Because idiots think giving everything ever their own movie is somehow a good thing.

Calm down.

The movie list is short. Scope looks narrowed. The subjects look like they are appealing. Looks like several will not be following the Skywalkers. Good.

Disney is just give Star Wars the same treatment it is Marvel which is a good thing.

And seeing as how awesome the marvel cinematic universe along with Abrams directing the first episode I have a feeling I'm going to really finally love the Star Wars universe.

Sadly, since Abrams departure from Star Trek I have a nagging feeling this universe will revert back to the lameness of the original series. I am still holding onto hope but it doesn't look good.

Also, I started watching Into Darkness last night while doing cardio.

I can't believe how much better the movie is upon a second viewing! I am 1/3 the way through it. The acting and portrayal of emotions is stupendous for a big budget explody film.

That bar scene when Captain Pike tells Kirk that he got Marcus to agree to make Kirk his First Officer. Kirk almost ****ing cries about i! haha But he did his best to hold back the tears. This is good directing and excellent acting. You believed Kirk was about to bawl his eyes out after a shitty day but he, being Kirk, held it back. That's how acting should be done. 🙂

Yeah, if we get the level of acting and directing from Star Wars, a series NOTORIOUS for shitty acting in all 6 films, that would be a MAJOR improvement. If Eps 7-9 give us the acting and directing of the Star Trek reboot BUT give us the mythos and plot of the other 6 films (at least something on par), I believe the ST will be the great trilogy in film history.

Even the small scenes really pack on the emotion and get the most out of the scenes. Abrams is truly awesome when it comes to directing and getting the best out of the actors.

The acting in the Star Wars films is practically unbearable at times which is why I never understood now people adored the films in fanatical type fashion. The acting is unintentionally comical at times.

With the rumors I'm hearing thus far online with the shitty direction Star Trek three might be headed I am just glad to know Abrams has the reigns to the Star Wars universe.

Watch every Khan scene. Watch how Cumberbatch steals them all and how truly awesome a performance this is. I honestly can't see how anyone wouldn't love Into Darkness a truly great film IMO.

I gave Into Darkness an 8 but I may bump it up to 9 (the highest score I give films because I believe no film is a perfect 10) if it keeps up the amazingness for the remaining 2/3. I must have been in a shitty mood when I saw the movie in the theater, originally.

The mindset you walk into a theatre with along with your expectations greatly influences your opinion on it. I firmly believe this.

Let me know what you think after you finish the second viewing.

Star Trek in general has always had far superior acting to Star Wars. The Abrams Trek films only further confirm this.

So there's a plot leak apparently. Hope this isn't true in the slightest.

Why would Han Solo need a spinoff?

I don't think there is any necessacity for a spinoff of anykind. If they are going to do spinoffs i think they should at least wait until this next trilogy is over. Hinting at a new story arch in a spinoff movie after this trilogy is over could possibly work.
