well here is a shitty image of that scene. I guess you can kinda make out the cocoon in the background (if that even is the cocoon on the left), and your guess is as good as mine if it is broken.

cant do a spoiler image so here is link http://i.imgur.com/mL7G2SZ.jpg

My initial thought on the matter was The Aether was actlly not an infinity stone. Its just really powerful and everyone was mistaken. I mean if Marvel were going to run with that then that could be a weakness that could be exploited. Maybe Thanos gets all the stone but since the Aether wasn't a true stone it will have a negative effect on him after trying to combine them into the Gauntlet...which could make him grow weaker the more he uses it.

Keep in mind that is all just something I have been thinking about lol

while that would be a clever deception and story trick, the aether was quite visible along with the tesseract when the collector was showing their origins. so he obviously believed it was one as well. with the collector and odin being ancient beings, I doubt them both being wrong on the matter..
so it still doesn't add up. either the celestials made them, or they just made five of them, or maybe malekith was a celestial lol (joking obviously)

I wasnt trying to be funny lol.
I thought that was the scene that showed the cocoon being broken. If there is another ill try to find it. The video link I had of that scnene got taken down so ill have to look elsewhere.

also: you dont see warlock at all! the rumors people are saying is that you see his broken cocoon in the background. thats it.

Wasn't there one for the second Thor movie for Warlock's cacoon?

just use that one.

Doesn't look a lot like the supposed intact cocoon in Thor 2, imo.

The Badoon were going to be in the movie but of course were cut, They're owned by Fox as part of the Fantastic Four/X-Men rights,

What happened to

Spoiler:
Gamora's sister?

Spoiler:
Nebula? she got away. we will most likely see her in a future film.

Yeah, that's what I was wondering.

Spoiler:
She seemed like Ronan's most loyal soldier. It seemed odd that she just bailed in the middle of the climax. I thought she would take the ship she hijacked and use it to attack the GoTG, but instead she just flew away and wasn't seen again.
. Confused me

I think the Guardians of the Galaxy will be the most unique Marvel movie to date. The characters, the environment, the tone... everything about this movie will be a bit different than anything else we've seen in the superhero genre. I am sure this movie is going to be one of the biggest blockbuster of this summer. Rocket Raccoon is gonna be awesome!!! Can't wait for this movie. 14th August you better come soon!

Quite true. It could just be a slip up on there part. lol thats the only other explanation I have.

As for talk about the cocoon....I wasn't aware of the rumor until after my second viewing. I'll do a little more research about it but I guess James Gunn won't confirm or deny if its true or not.

And I saw people are trying to discredit the movie because they say Star Lord and Gamora wouldn't have survived "in space". In the vacuum of space they would have been in a lot of pain but would have survived for a few minutes.

lol I also saw this. morons. ppl were like oohh their hands are exposed. like as if they would just blow up or sumthin. they would live for a little bit. as long as they weren't holding their breath seeing as how that would rupture their lungs. they would have been fine for the time they were out there.

I've seen that

for ****s sake its a fictional movie and people are trying to apply real world things to it 🙄

Gunn himself has commented on that scene

In addition to the reasons the article states, there are a few more why Quill and Gamora survive -
-Gamora is genetically and cybernetically enhanced, allowing her to stay alive longer than Quill would.
-When Quill is in outer space outside both the Kyln and Knowhere, there is no anti-gravity, but there is residual atmosphere from those places. Rocket even mentions it to Quill outside Knowhere. This lessens the impact of space.
-Much of the scene is shot in slow motion, meaning it takes up more time on screen than it would in real life.
-The airlock within the Eclector (Yondu's ship) has regenerative properties, which is why both Quill and Gamora are all good when they are pulled into the ship. After all, the Ravagers are a bunch of thrill-seeking idiots. One of Kraglin's favorite pastimes is probably jumping out into outer space completely nude for a few seconds and quickly clamoring back in.

Gonna be the replacement for the Other likely. Remember how the Infinity Gauntlet worked out with Thanos and her? It will likely play out in similarly. Since he isn't going to have Mephisto and Death by his side like in the comics, her and possibly Loki or a revived Ronan would be standing beside Thanos.

lol true but James Gunn did say he wanted to make that as real as possible. Which watching it...it seemed right in line. In fact when rocket says "you won't last seconds"...that is actually an under exaggeration. Peter, without his mask on, would have probably survived for minutes because the vacuum of space doesn't really effect people like everyone seems to think it does.

But I agree. There is a talking tree and raccoon in the movie soooo....lol

Awesome movie!
Really liked it!
