Marvel screened Guardians of the Galaxy for hospitalized creator of Rocket Raccoon. Kinda heart warming

I hear this movie's sexist garbage.

That true?

Who told you this nonsense.

Zoe Saldana didn't show any t!ts or ass... so yeah, it was pretty damn sexist towards men.

So true, but that green skin had me going🙂

So yes. All right.

Movie took a little while to get going and a lot of the Jokes felt like they weren't given time to breath or maybe it was poor timing. Either way the jokes that don't work are still funny and the ones that do work are memorable. It took me a while to get fully invested into the team and their purpose. However, once I did the final act came together quite nicely. It's just one of those movies that is hard not to like.

I've only seen one bad review for this movie so far, I think the person took the Star Wars comparison that this movie has been given a bit too far.

^ Lol yeah its a great fun flick, but no Star Wars. Not by a long shot.

Although initially it was reminding me of Indiana Jones type adventure/fun flick.

Oh come on, GoTG was significantly better than StarWars.

Far more character depth and better characterisation, better plot, far more fun to watch... Superior in all aspects, by some distance too.

Maybe better when it comes to the prequel movies.

If you said that to my face, I'd take out my Vader Lightsaber and kick your butt with it!

Now repeat after me a thousand times: STAR WARS is the Greatest Film (and Trilogy) OF ALL TIME.

Star wars is one of the most overrated film franchises of all time.

GotG was better than any of the Star Wars films IMO.

Star Wars can be over rated. I'm a big fan since childhood and I will be the first to admit it is over rated and has a sea of issues. Having said that if GoTG is anywhere near Empire Strikes Back...then Daaaaamn.

I've never been a "fan" of Starwars. As a child, it bored me, but I loved space fiction and wanted to like it. I just couldn't it was too simplistic and the characters were incredibly shallow.

I also cringed at the acting and dialogue.

Even parodies like Spaceballs were better acted and scripted.

StarTrek was a little more grown up, when it comes to the movies, but then it was boring too for a whole other bunch of reasons (Federation, quibbling over procedures and protocols - you're in ****ing space, there are billions of species out there and all you want to do is setup idiotic bureaucracies and control things??).

Anyway, Last Star Fighter (kids film) was the best space sci-fi of my childhood, that and The Explorers. And Battle Star Galactica!!!

So StarWars bores me, a lot.

Guardians of The Galaxy obviously referenced a lot of its themes and had some degree of visual similarity but it was far superior across the board.

GoTG is one of my all time favourites now, better than The Avengers even (perhaps, maybe ...).

Saw the film last night.

It was decent. 6.5-7 out of 10.

But it...I dunno. There didn't seem to be anywhere even remotely close to enough Chris Pratt humor. There was 2-3 good Chris Pratt moments (like the "He is just going to say 'I am Groot'", when they first boarded Ronan's ship).

The movie suffered from being PG-13, like most movies, these days (there is a movement out there to get rid of the PG-13 rating).

The character development also seemed extremely forced. Everything, from the beginning to the end, seemed uncomfortably forced. There was nothing about the characters that made me think they were memorable. For me, I got the overwhelming feeling that they were included for marketing purposes (action figures, shirts, and so forth).

And that damn raccoon was trying way too damn hard to be funny (not his fault). He came off as that annoying and angry guy at parties that gets waaay too drunk and thinks he's hilarious.

Seems they spent far too much time on effects and not nearly enough time and writing a decent script.

Also, all the character's powers were stupidly subdued.

Perhaps the next film will be much more enjoyable than this one? I think there is a better story being told in the next film. They hinted at that.

Summary: Guardians of the Galaxy is a movie so filed with tropes, clichés, and lame humor that it makes you cringe and moan. It has excellent moments, too. Top notch effects, for sure. Everything about the characters was very forced and superficial. Watch it to be mildly entertained.

It is one of those movies that you turn on to have background noise while your do stuff around the house.

You must have a shitty taste in movies.

While I am a fan of Star Wars I agree with this statement. I love Guardians! For me it is the top dog of the marvel movies. Avengers is second for me now.

Yeah, here are some of the movies that show up in my top 50:

Matrix Trilogy
Star Wars Ep 1-6
Prometheus
Dark City
Gladiator
Inglourious Basterds
Alien
X-men 2
Terminator 2
Equilibrium
The Watchmen

All I had to do was go down my 5-star Netflix list. 😄

Anyway, clearly, I have terrible taste in films. Just terrible.
