Not a bad WWF crew, although I'd probably swap out Duggan for Roddy Piper.

Here's my NWA counter team ...

Masked Superstar

Bruiser Brody

The Fabulous Freebirds

🍺

The Machine : Death's Head (1) Souless Greedy Boun...Freelance Peace Keeping Agent. Will Enforce the Peace...if you can Meet His Price.

The Mercenary : Jugger Grimrod. Cold Stone Warrior. Need the Job done and don't care how Dirty it Gets Done... Send In Jugger and Stay out of His Way.

The Murder: Abslom Daak. A Murder Sentenced to Death Via DK . Death By Dalek. Tell him there is a Dalek at the center of the objective or a way to save his lover Tayina. He will MURDER Everything in the path to it.

The Monster : Mean Machine Angel. Cyborg Mutant from the Cursed Earth. Just Set His Dial to 4 and run Like Hell.

and ...The MASTER : Renegade Time Lord from the nigh Omnicent/Omnipotent Race. Bent on Bringing the Universe to Order.. HIS ORDER!

EVOLUTION 2.0

THE PAST

KURT ANGLE-A revered icon, he adds the cred. He’s not what he used to be, but like Flair he’ll team w. one of the younger guys, to capture the Tag Titles. The younger guy will do the heavy lifting letting Angle come in and hit his signature moves, and more importantly, trash talk the competition in and out of the ring.

THE PRESENT

AJ STYLES-Heel AJ is at his best imo. Still the main event guy, like HHH he’ll be looking to hold onto the World Title by any means, and grab the rest of WWE’s Gold for his stable.

THE FUTURE

CHAD GABLE-Showed signs of being a good heel when he partnered w. Shelton Benjamin but now he’ll get to perfect his persona. He’ll team w. fellow Olympian Angle, and wait for his breakout singles moment, ala Randy Orton.

BRIAN CAGE-Like Batista he’s coming to WWE a bit older. He has a lot of experience already and all the physical stats. He’s a quick super agile monster heel who’ll be the stable’s muscle, and brutally capture the IC Title.

A mutant space faring team based on DC’s Wanderers. There are a couple of veterans but the rest of the team wound up skewing young, which i dont mind, it gives me a chance to use some fresh characters...:

CYPHER
(Immorto/Re-Animage)

Pre Crisis, the crappily named Immorto had the power to not die, and was otherwise pretty useless. Post Crisis he was even more crappily dubbed Re-Animage and could also heal others making him more useful.
Cypher had the power to read any language and was otherwise pretty useless. After coming back from the dead he could also read structures for weakness and body language to help him fight, making him more useful. He’s the untested leader of my team.

SINGULARITY
(Quantum Queen)

QQ could project and turn herself into any form of, well, quantum energy. Singularity is a mysterious, friendly, but way more powerful energy being. She adds to the “space-iness” of the team. Not actually a mutant, but she’s not the first such to serve on an X team.

NIGHTCRAWLER
(Elvo/Elvar)

The also crappily named/renamed Elvo/Elvar was an elf like being who ws a good fighter, w. an energy sword. NC is a fuzzy elf and a way better fighter, w. a regular sword, and can teleport. He is way cooler.

ANGEL
(Ornitho/Aviax)

Crappy names? Crappy names. Pre Crisis Ornitho had wings, Post Crisis Aviax could also turn into alien birds. Angel has had power ups but i’ve never liked them so this version is traditional, no metal or fiery wings.

SPYKE
(Dartolg/Dartalon)

Crap names aside, each version of the DC character had a dart gimmick. Originally he used a blowgun and trick darts, then he was super strong, covered in and could shoot quills. Spyke is super strong, covered in and can shoot spikes.

LUNA MAXIMOFF
(Psyche)

The half mutant/Inhuman has virtually identical powers to the only named once Psyche. Empathic senses, emotional manipulatoon, aura vision; just on a more powerful level.

A Marvel team based on Morrison’s Seven Soldiers...:

THE BLACK KNIGHT
(The Shining Knight)

Pretty easy swap, between these two. They're the iconic characters of this type for their respective companies.

US AGENT
(Manhattan Guardian)

Even though he’s been around about as long, no Guardian will ever be seen to be as good as Captain America, and neither will US Agent.

SCARLET WITCH
(Zatanna)

Another easy swap, for the same reason as the Marvel and DC knights. I like the idea of Wanda being on a team other that The Avengers.

KID LOKI
(Klarion The Witchboy)

Witchboy? Nah. This is Kid...BUM BUM BUM...Loki.

LONGSHOT
(Mister Miracle)

Longshot originally borrowed a lot from MM’s origin and backstory, though thats pretty much forgotten nowadays.

METALLIQUE
(Bulleteer)

The time displaced and alternate reality daughter of Colossus fits the bill here as the hot metal skinned replacement for DCs Bulleteer.

FRANKENCASTLE
(Frankenstein)

Morrison gave us a funky, weapons wielding Frankenstein. For a while, Marvel gave us a funky, weapons wielding Punisher/Frankenstein pastiche.

For reasons that only make sense to him, as the smartest guy in comics, Reed Richards decides to hide a Cosmic Cube in plain sight by giving it to five misfit super humans, so they can run around unchecked, all over the Marvel Universe.
To make that running around easier, he gives them an old Fantastic-ar tricked out for interstellar/dimensional travel.
The icing on the cake? Reed has arranged it so that by using the Cosmic Cube in tandem, the super humans can summon the guardian and protector of Eternity, Captain Universe.
See, it makes no sense.

REED RICHARDS
(High Father)

The smartest man alive.
He’s the one behind it all.

THE COSMIC CUBE
(Mother Box)

One of the most powerful objects in existence.
It is, in it’s own way, alive.

CAPTAIN UNIVERSE
(Infinity Man)

The embodiment of the Uni Power.
There is always a Captain Universe. When summoned by the Cosmic Cube he or she will be eager to return to their own mission, so is apt to employ a great amount of power quickly, to end things decisively.

THE MELTER
(Mark Moonrider)

Moonrider had the destructive Megaton Touch. Melter’s touch can break down nearly anything, organic and inorganic.

DAYDREAM
(Beautiful Dreamer)

Beautiful Dreamer had psionic based illusion powers. Daydream has demonic based dream and mental manipulation abilities.

JOSEPH
(Vykin)

Vykin had something called Magno Power, letting him project magnetic energy. Joseph, the young clone of Magneto, can manipulate magnetism for a variety of effects.

RAGE
(Big Bear)

Big Bear can redirect the high density atoms in his body to enhance the power of his already super strong punches. Rage has the Hulk like ability to amp his super strength as he gets angrier.

CULLEN BLOODSTONE
(Serifan)

Serifan had limited TP and New Genesis forged guns that fired “Cosmic Cartridges” for a variety of effects. Bloodstone uses very large, conventional firearms, and can transform into a gigantic rampaging monster when he removes his magical signet ring.

THE FANTASTIC-AR
(Super-Cycle)

Both the Super-Cycle and the Fantastic-Ar are sweet, sweet rides.

For some reason, Marvel chose to celebrate the Avengers’ 300th issue w. This:

What’s been described/voted for the last 30 years as the worst Avengers line up EVER. So of course i wanted to try a DC version of the team.
I went for two prior members (like they did Cap & Thor) and three new additions, to make the Justice League no one ever wanted...:

GANGBUSTER
(The Captain)

The Captain was actually Captain America in a different costume. Gangbuster was Superman in a different costume. Unlike Cap though, Supes had a split personality thing going on. I think it’d be a cool plot point if Supes was part of disbanding the JLA for some reason, then subconsciously, as Gangbuster, he turned around and tried to put the team right back together.

ORION
(Thor)

Though he doesn't have the team involvement Thor does, Orion’s a former Leaguer & shares a lot of similarities w. the thunder god. So much so that they were even Amalgamed into Thorion once.

THE OLYMPIAN
(The Forgotten One)

Both have similar big horned helmeted outfits. Both are super strong D-listers. Both have vague ties to the Hercules legend. One’s CALLED the Forgotten One, and one IS forgotten, by most comic book fans.

PROFESSOR HALEY & JUNE ROBBINS
(Reed Richards & Sue Richards)

The Challengers of The Unknown were basically Jack Kirby’s non-super powered Fantastic Four. Prof. Haley and June are the Reed and Sue of their team, so they’re my choice to sub for them on my dinky JLA.

A Marvel version of an obscure DC villain team, The New Olympians, who patterned themselves after Greek and Roman Gods:

MOSES MAGNUM
(Maxie Zeus)

As the King of the Gods. Like Maxie, Moses started out small time and grew an empire. Moses has also gotten super strength and durability along the way.

TICK TOCK
(Argus)

Like the many eyed God, Tick Tock can see into the future.

ANA KRAVINOFF
(Diana)

Like the Goddess, Ana is all about the hunt.

VINCENTE
(Proteus)

Like the God of many forms, Vincente can go from solid to liquid to gas.

SELENE
(Nox)

As the albino Mistress of darkness. Easily more powerful than anyone on the team, why she’s chosen to work w. Moses is a mystery.

SALAMANDER
(Volcanus)

Like the God of fire, Salamander has the element running through his veins like lava. He sees this as a step up from working for the cartels.

THE BLOB
(Anteus)

As long as Anteus remained in contact w. the earth he was nearly invincible. Thats kind of the Blob’s deal, too. A consummate follower, he falls in line w. Moses, no problem.

When ppl think of JLA big shots Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern and Aquaman, no one ever thinks of THESE six sinister villains.
So, they've banded together to take out the one JLAer no one thinks about either, the Martian Manhunter. The villains figure if they kill him, it’ll totally up their individual reps.

THE TURTLE
(Dr. Octopus)

Has the older guy, mad scientist, unexpectedly powerful thing going on.

THE DUKE OF DECEPTION
(Mysterio)

Uses illusions as weapons, but on a godly level not with tech.

THE FISHERMAN
(Kraven)

He has strength, speed, stealth and deadly tech. And he hunts...fish. ooh!

STANCH
(The Vulture)

A deadly winged predator. I mean vultures aren't predators but still.

CLAYFACE
(Sandman)

Kinda like Sandman, he should have killed his hero ages ago.

LIVEWIRE
(Electro)

She can and has taken Superman to the limit but never been invited to be on any other villain team. Lame.

A DC Comics team based on the upcoming Agents of Wakanda series from Marvel...:

AQUAMAN
(Black Panther)

Aquaman for Black Panther. Aquaman’s formed/been on other teams before so this goes to type for him.

TULA
(Okoye)

Like Okoye, Tula has spent her time involved w. her King’s military in way or another. She has h2h and tactical training to back up her physical strength.

BUMBLEBEE
(Wasp)

Pretty obvious choice to replace Wasp, powers wise. Bumblebee’s also pretty competent, and has a good bit of team experience w. The Titans and Doom Patrol.

KAMANDI
(Ka-Zar)

Both characters have a similar enough look. Kamandi can be displaced in time and space, taken in by Aquaman. Kamandi’s fast, strong, smart; he knows weapons and has experience w. all sorts of creatures including aquatic ones.

KING SHARK
(Gorilla Man)

Black Panther’s jungle team has a Gorilla Man, Aquaman’s ocean team has a King Shark.

BAT-MAN
(Fat Cobra)

Less powerful than Fat Cobra, Bat-Man still fits the bill as the heavy set Asian character. Story wise he’s an envoy from China, which is looking to form an alliance w. Atlantis, and maybe shift the balance of global power.

ANTHONY LUPUS
(Man-Wolf)

Both Man-Wolf and Lupus became lycanthropes through artificial means (godstone/secret formula respectively).

ALIA
(Rosalind Solomon)

Standing in for former SHIELD agent Solomon, is former SPYRAL agent Alia, now working for Atlantis. She’s faked her death several times now, to get here.

Just a Team I would like to see of low listers..

The Owl. Team Leader.

The Death Stalker. Team Enforcer. His Touch Bring Death.

The Behemouth. Team Tank and Muscle.

Portal. His name is his power. Plus a good tactical fighter weapons man.

Jack-O-Lantern. The Distraction

Blackout. Infiltrator and Assassin..a very messy one.

The Orb. Vehicle and Weapons Expert.

^^^thats a good one! You should try a DC version.

MORGAN EDGE
(Norman Osborn)

Like Osborn after Secret Invasion, Edge puts together his Cabal in the wake of Doomsday Clock. The way Edge uses his influence/public persona/global media empire always struck me as very Osborn-esque.

OCEAN MASTER
(Dr. Doom)

Should be the Namor, but i see him as Doom; he has the armored look, the hatred for that accursed Aquaman, brings Atlantean tech/magic, and wants what’s best for his kingdom, which is him in charge.

TALIA AL GHUL
(Emma Frost)

Lack of powers aside, Talia easily matches Emma’s “better than you” swagger. Her ties to Batman are useful, and she’s at the controls of a world spanning secret empire.

CIRCE
(Loki)

Like Loki, Circe loves to create chaos, and this seems like a good opportunity to do that. She looks forward to sticking it to Wonder Woman and her teammates as plans progress.

THE MONK
(The Hood)

He’s the street level-ish bad guy that does the dirty work and associates w. all the low level rogues and scumbags. Like the Hood, he has a magical nature and is kinda creepy.

GEO FORCE
(Namor)

In the wake of Doomsday Clock there are multiple Outsiders teams, the Superman theory, and Markovia is much more prominent. Like Namor being in two Cabals, Geo Force is playing both sides at once.

Wanted to try a DC version of the Warren Ellis team, where the characters had way different personalities than we were used to.
I tried looking for pics w. captions that in a different context might match new takes on the team members.

STEVE TREVOR (Dirk Anger)

Suicidally depressed agent of A.R.G.U.S. (A Really Groovy Undercover Society). He doesnt even want to be there, much less lead a team.

DR. LIGHT (Monica Rambeau)

To be fair, the female Dr. Light has mostly been written as pretty bitchy, so this wasnt much of a stretch.

ROSE WILSON (Elsa Bloodstone)

Deathstroke’s daughter replaces Bloodstone’s daughter. As seen above, she doesnt think the team has been treated quite right by A.R.G.U.S.

GENERAL GLORY (The Captain)

Perpetually drunk, way too gung ho, WWII vet. Think Archie Bunker, but without restraint. He hates everyone and everything.

ROBOT LOIS LANE (Aaron Stark)

A weaponized mechanical Lois?!? This was too good a character NOT to use, even though it meant i gender flipped Machine Man.

DAMAGE (Tabitha Smith)

Gender flipped Boom Boom to keep the male/female ratio. Going by his caption, this kid is a literal ticking time bomb, and doesnt even think he NEEDS a team.

THE POWER COMPANY
(Marvel version)

PARTNERS

JENNIFER WALTERS (Josiah Power)

Josiah Power rarely ever used his abilities, and neither will Jennifer. She’s had control issues during the latest Avengers run, so she’s left that team to start her own for hire enterprise, patterned after a law firm. She’s brought in experienced personnel and promising young talent.

PALADIN (Manhunter)

A veteran metahuman, like Manhunter. Paladin has been on both sides of the fence and knows all the players. He’s intrigued by Jennifer’s proposal and feels he has a lot to offer here.

TURBO (Skyrocket)

Both are tech based flight-centric heroes, and have a good bit of experience w. room to grow. Jennifer is looking to make Turbo into the next great team leader, once she’s ready to move on.

SATANNA (Witchfire)

A popular, media savvy magic based character like Witchfire, Satanna doesnt mind the steady income, and enjoys the challenges she faces as part of the firm.

ASSOCIATES

DEMOLITION MAN (Bork)

Ex homeless hero as opposed to ex villain. Given a chance by Jennifer to get himself back on track, and he’s taking it seriously.

NUKE (Firestorm)

The nuclear man is looking to disassociate from the Squadron Supreme, and become a part of society in this, his new dimension as opposed to trying to conquer it.

MERCURY (Sapphire)

Needed a young, metallic shapeshifter w. a jacked up backstory. Mercury’s getting out from under Emma Frost’s control, and becoming her own person.

THUNDERBIRD (Stryker Z)

Both characters are living batteries/energy wielders. Thunderbird wants to make his own way, independent of his family’s wealth in India, and meet them again as an equal. Looking to make partner in record time.

SUPPORT STAFF

GRADY SCRAPS (Charlie Lau)

Horizon Labs employee and the firm’s resident technical specialist, Jennifer’s trouble shooter.

WYATT WINGFOOT (Raul)

Pilot of the “Company Car”, the firm’s multimillion-purpose airship. Jennifer’s ex-lover.

SEOL HEE (Silver Shannon)

Jennifer’s personal assistant, one time cryokinetic hero, former lead singer in K Pop band.

MAX MODELL (Garrison Slate)

Administrator/CEO of Horizon Labs. One of Jennifer’s best clients, they trade services.

SPACE GHOST
The Batman of the stars.

VULCAN
The OG sidekick, all grown up, Nightwing style.

ULTRA BOY
Like Red Hood, UB is the sidekick w. a temper, who questions leadership, crosses lines, and eventually goes rogue.

NOVA
After one grows up and one goes rogue, you get the Tim Drake type sidekick, who actually wants the job.

NOH-VAR
The Damian like cocky one, who thinks he can do anything better than anyone. He just up and takes the sidekick job.

MANTIS
A consummate fighter, better than Space Ghost. Like Cassandra Cain, Mantis is quiet, but dangerous.

MOON DRAGON
Not a girl or sidekick. Like Batwoman does Batman, MD considers herself Space Ghost’s equal. Also like Batwoman, MD likes the ladies.

RONAN
I dunno; Ronan has the pseudo religious accuser thing, Azrael has the militant biblical angel gimmick. Power Hammer. Flaming Sword. Seems a good fit.

VALERIA RICHARDS
Even from Earth, this super genius can disseminate info, Oracle style. She’s just a computer screen away, at any time.

GANTHET
Or rather, Commissioner. In charge of the Universe’s premiere police force, he still has Space Ghost on cosmic speed dial.

PEABODY
Because every space Batman needs a dedicated robot Butler.

If Space Ghost is playing the part of a cosmic Batman, then he needs an equally cosmic rogues gallery to go up against...:

NEW 52 LOBO as THE JOKER
Because this pasty faced, prancing, well dressed version of the Main Man was an F’ing joke.

VIRMAN VUNDABAR as THE PENGUIN
Short, pudgy, w. a monocle to boot, Virman is schemer, and has tons of henchmen (parademons) to do his fighting for him.

THE SPHYNX as ED NYGMA
Sphinx. As in ‘riddle of’...(rimshot)

LORELEI as CATWOMAN
Hot Asgardian thief, who flirts and fights w. Space Ghost in equal parts.

PSYCHO MAN as SCARECROW
Fear is just one of the emotions this jagoff dabbles in.

THE INBETWEENER as TWO FACE
I mean come on, he’s got the duality deal down pat.

LORD THRAGG/ANISSA as R’AS AL GHUL/TALIA
Thragg has the superior attitude & heads an organization. Wants to mate Space Ghost w. Anissa to produce an heir. Anissa’s not above rape to get it done.

MONGUL as BANE
Both are big ass bruisers who break people.

EGO as CLAYFACE
There’s clay in his face, as well as sandstone, schist, slate, quartz...all the sediments.

IMPOSSIBLE MAN as BAT-MITE
Space Ghost’s biggest fan, shows up periodically to put his hero in mortal danger, just to see him get out of it, because Space Ghost can get out of anything!
