I see.I don't think that will be a problem these days, Bioware has learned a lot about the romancing aspect of their games since the first Mass Effect.
I honestly hope so, I just wouldn't be surprised if that's what we got again.
Bioware has undergone radical shifts since the days of ME1 and even ME2, and the only game I would really be able to compare it to is DA3. And the romance system in that game was hit and miss, imo.
Well I think the romance in all bioware games are somewhat hit and miss, it really comes down to preference, as in what character you prefer. Some characters I think have shit romances, but others like them. I think, over all, DAI probably has the best, most well developed and nuanced romances in their entire game catalog.

Origins is actually backwards compatible on the Xbox One so you can play it on there now.

Cool 👆I recommend playing it on PC because the mod support is excellent, but if you can play it on console it's still a hell of a game.

I honestly don't know if I can agree with that. Not completely anyway. While the writing of the characters in general is pretty good, when it came to the romances, I dunno. Not to mention that as a straight guy character, Josephine and Cassandra really didn't do it for me.
YMMV, though.

Hey guys, since it was the topic of convo earlier, I thought you'd like to know that Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate Edition is on sale right now on steam for 7 dollars. I just picked it up
👆 Nice. Ultimate Edition has some tasty dlc and the expansion included.

Man, what is with Bioware's recent obsession with making unattractive romance options for the straight male in a fictional game?

Will agree. While they were somewhat written well, can't really imagine my character romancing someone they won't find physically attractive. I skipped romance entirely in DA:I but will admit it had zero effect on my gameplay.
MA4 is not day 1 for me. Gonna wait for reviews. Most likely gonna wait til it is in the discount bin. ME3's original ending and DAI's IMO shallow gameplay kinda put me off to Bioware games (where at one point, I considered them in my top 3 of must-buy game devs).

you joke, but there are some pretty bad instances of racism/sexism coming from bioware at times.
And a friend of mine pointed it out to me the other day: Where are all the Asians? In both ME and DAI, they're lacking. And the character creator sucks at making them too.
MEA is not day 1 for me, but I could see myself getting it opening week. I have no problem paying full price for it IF it's getting good reviews.

I'm waiting to get mine. I'm keeping an open mind about them learning from their past mistakes but I'm also still a bit put off by the fact that they disappointed me 2 times in a row already (ME3 ending, DA:I gameplay).
If ME4 restores my faith in BW, then I'll likely go back to day 1 purchases for BW games.
TBH, there's still that part of me that remembers how much I love the first two games (not to mention a large part of the third), but there are just enough things to make me hesitant that I'm cautious about it.
Then again, I may well end up buying it on release day because **** it, it's Mass Effect.
Shame I'm on PC though. Long download for me either way unless hard copies come with most of the game on disc.

Doesn't origin allow you to pre-download the game prior to release? So that you can play it as soon as it hits midnight?

Oh, they do. I just have the kind of internet that means that even if I start preloading, there's a good chance I'll still be downloading it when people buy it on general release.
iirc Dragon Age Inquisition could be bought with actual discs in the box, but I haven't seen mention of a similar pc version.
