Eh. I'm alright with most of the companions so far. The only one giving me slight worry is Peebee whose character sounds like ME1 Liara if she had Sera's personality the way she's described. I like both characters but combined? I'll have to wait and see when I get the game.

Nope. The few connections are explained. In game I believe.

Yeah, I always thought Mass Effect would be neat if it went down the DA: Origins road. Getting to choose your race and background and play through a short "story beginning" like Origins would have been fun.

Especially when each race is part of the Pathfinder program so they all have the same goal. It's not just humanity looking for a new homeworld so nothing really special about them this time around.

Eh, bit early to say that, what with rumors abound that Cerberus might have some part to play in this game.

It would make sense. If they are minor element in the first and major element in the second Mass Effect, it would be a logical assumption that Cerberus would play a role within a major project like this.

However, I hope they are not a major antagonist within the new game. I want to believe a Cerberus connection would just be a link between the new series and old.

And I wouldn't mind that. I cannot believe a new Mass Effect will not reference the first trilogy. I just hope those connections are not a driving force for the plot.

I heard that the human chick squadmate has the same last name as the Illusive Man, so people are speculating that she's his daughter or something.

I agree, but at the same time I kind of wonder what the stats were for which origin people chose the most. I bet it was (male) human noble just like most people picked Soldier ManShep to an overwhelming degree.

Yeah, I would agree that the setup for this game would enable Bioware to have multiple races for the playable character. It wouldn't work with the previous Mass Effect games because being human was so intertwined with the plot.

However, I don't really care. I'm not sure adding different races would make any difference and be worth the added time developing it.

The sheer size of Andromeda would mean if we had a Turian Pathfinder, Salarian Pathfinder, Krogan Pathfinder, etc, etc... It would be in development for like another 2-3 years. All new starting world, starting cast, cutscenes, dialogue choices, gameplay, voice acting, etc, etc...
