Canon!Dathomir is less a dark side nexus than it is a wellspring for Nightsister magicks.

I don't know what they will do with surviving Maul... So are they going to use him in rebellion era ???

I'm inclined to agree with Neph to a degree. They fought in "the heart of Mother Talzin's power."
I suspect outside of that area, let alone the planet itself, Sidious will be able to beat her rather easily.

Talzin implies that nightsister magic is what enables them to connect to the force/dark side in the first place, so I don't think the properties of her magic is the same as a regular DS nexus.

That seems to be the reason Sidious wanted to draw her off world, because she has full control of the magic imbued on her planet.

Because he can't, they aren't that far apart. In the sabers department he outskills Maul but Maul is quite-quite capable of reacting to Sidious's speed.

Heck, Talzin-in-Dooku was said to lack Dooku's skills, but was still fast enough to block a shot or two before being disarmed.

I don't know if that was her skills, or battling Dooku for control and having to fight both.

She did manage to contend with Windu in her own body, the fight was probably meant to last longer in TCW.

I'm quite surprised that Maul's not *dead* at the end of this. I thought this was to be his final story!

Talzin was able to go toe-to-toe with Mace. Being able to contend with Sidious is a reflection of her prowess, not an indictment of Sidious.

Just try to imagine Krayt instead of Sidious and I'm sure this conundrum will work itself out for you. 🙂
