Captain America vs Achilles(Troy)

Whoa, the shield is too blunt to dismember people? He was dismembering superhuman alien invaders like butter, but he can't chop off Brad Pitt's arm? Let's get real here. Is it the shield that is blunted here?

Nope.

Pitt lifts.

It can cut through limbs but I doubt it will cut Achilles.

Carrying all those adopted children every day would increase muscle mass, yes.

You better have some good ass durability or speed feats to back this up.

My mistake, I thought he'd cut someones head off. But he did cut off the metal arm of a chitauri without much effort. So my point is still valid. Shields were used to kill people as well as defend one from harm, and his has a razor sharp edge and can cut easily cut through tissue and bone.

Pretty sure Achilles can avoid a shield better then a sword considering its bigger and slower.

Was Captain dismembered when the shield was thrown back at him by Winter Soldier?

Chitari are either Aliens not super humans. The two words don't go together🙂

Even Black Widow was killing them..

The fact that Achilles is invincible except the heel is good enough.

Except it's not in the film. You can't just substitute lore for evidence.

It actually was though, he was born of an immortal goddess and it was said he could not be killed, both stated in the movie, he stopped, hurt or subdued until he got an arrow in his heel.

No, because he ducked out of the way and it impaled about halfway into a van.

And when a person says "superhuman", it's a blanket term for beyond normal capability. The Chitauri were superhuman considering they dug into concrete after falling hundreds of feet from the sky and were unharmed, as well as crushing cars falling from the same height and being fine as well.

Widow killed them with weapons and her speed. She didn't do it hand to hand.

That's an absolutely retarded stance to take

He's talking about when Cap threw the shield at Bucky on the rooftop
Edit:
And Bucky caught it and threw it back at Caps chest

Achilles dies not from an arrow to his heel (which merely slows him down) but the multitude of other arrows which pierce his chest after. Also, he tells the boy that if he is untouchable, "then I wouldn't be bothering with the shield, would I?" His durability is in serious question.

That... Isn't lore anyway

Iirc his mother got a vision of the future and dipped Achilles in the river Styx to give him invulnerability

Due to him being held by his HEEL that was the only place the Styx didn't get to and thus his only weakness

He was never shown to take damage in any of the fights. If he had gotten to become the legendary warrior he had become he would have been in countless fights and engagements without being harmed just because of his shield?

Ok, fair enough, however then he is a better with a shield then Cap and by far a better swordsmen.

I've seen Winter Soldier twice now. Cap would own Achilles just in terms of sheer strength, agility, and coordination. The skill disparity isn't as conclusive as you're stating, given that Cap went melee against the much faster Winter Soldier who had a super ridiculous bionic arm and awesome combat knife skills.

No doubt but Achilles engaged a entire beach of armed men and Archers, a giant throwing spears at him, Hector himself. Achilles had serious agility and speed. Running up a sand dune in full armor with sword and shield fighting the whole way up unharmed. Its a legit feat.

Captain with a sword has to know how to fight with a sword and shield at Achilles level of swordsmanship, which he has never been shown to fight with a sword. Well have to agree to disagree, I just don't see him taking down Achilles in a sword and shield fight.
