Captain America: Civil War

Well Civil War went out of its way to make Cap's side ride so I'm interested in seeing where the movie will take this. Just to do something different and the idea of having a gang of superpower'd people running around being a legit concern, I think I might be on IM's team: it helps that Spiderman appears to be there again.

IDK I thought Cap would come out on top in the comics too. With all the IM wank in the MCU and the fact that IM won in the comic, theres a very real chance he could win.

IM is just the villian in a Captain America movie

Its more fitting to call him the antagonist rather than the villain. He has a great point after all. Masked heroes being able to operate unchecked is just asking for disaster.

At the same time though, putting the restraints on them could also lead to death due to their eventual choice of inaction.

It's actually a pretty cool philosophical debate with both sides having great arguments, which is why its mostly up to personal preference. I, for one, like my Spiderman as a masked vigilante without every villain in the world knowing his identity, which is why I've always been team Cap. Even back in the comics, when Spidey unmasked in front of the world for IM, I was like "No! WTF are you doing??"

Yeah. There will be an actual villain as well but it won't be IM.

Spoiler:
Baron Zemo I've been hearing

Yeah....Daniel Bruhl is playing him, Seems he's been forgotten about it.

Nah, haven't forgotten about him. He's just less interesting than the Cap v Iron Man showdown.

Based on what?

we haven't even seen any footage of him in action.

Based on my interest levels? The thought of seeing Iron Man fight Captain America is incredibly intriguing to me on so many levels. I'm hoping Zemo will become a villain that LINGERS. One reason Loki and Winter Soldier were such great villains is because they were:

A) Written well
B) Acted well
C) Given time to breath

If Marvel really wants to develop a good villain, they won't rush their entire storyline in one movie and kill them off. But ya, much more interested in seeing the Cap v Iron Man fight personally.

IMO, Zemo is the one pulling the strings

Oh, of that I have no doubt. But in this case I find the puppets more interesting than the puppeteer.

Those points are exactly why I consider Kingpin to be the best MCU villain yet

He is; without a doubt. Loki is the best big screen villain though. Hopefully Zemo will be good.

oh, I agree

Anybody think this will be the MCU's highest grossing film?

There is a chance, yeah.

Obviously a possibility; especially with the acclaim The Winter Soldier garnered. But the title "Captain America" doesn't seem to draw as much water as "Avengers", despite WS being a massively superior film to AOU.

Would be interested to see what would happen if they released the exact same film but retitled as "Avengers: Civil War" in select but comparative markets.

I don't think it will. I wouldn't be SURPRISED if it does go on to be the highest grossing, but I'm not expecting it.

I think it will definitely outgross IM3 to become Marvel's 3rd biggest movie. Where it goes from there is anyone's guess.

I imagine the addition of Spider-Man will only help. I remember people cheering in the theatre when Spider-Man showed up at the end of the CW trailer.
