Yea but what was wrong with it iyo?
Basic plot, boring action to me, and a lackluster villain climactic fight. Max was also clearly overshadowed by Charlize Theron's character.

It is. You were wrong, as shown.

You fell asleep and then judged out of ignorance.

IOW: The villain didn't have super-powers and it didn't end in a cookie-cutter hero vs villain fight!". Cry more, Sleepy Dwarf. This is a solid action.

Saying it has been shown is ignoring the definitions of words. Massive hit implies huge financial success. It hasn't been. It is critically acclaimed.

I didn't even say it had to be the baddest fight out there. I wouldn't have him easily killed with all that buildup. You like an easily killable villain. I don't.

"Redemption" and "Chapter Doof" are fantastic tracks.

I agree, the 3D did actually enhance the action quite a bit. There was lots of depth in the chase scenes, but not in a gimmicky way. Just really cool.

As far as anyone can tell, it was because the villain didn't have super-powers, it didn't end in a cliched final battle between Max and Villain, and he fell asleep during it. 😆

Falling asleep isn't a good sign I loved it. And the villain didn't need super powers but to be casually dismissed in this manner was not what I prefer.

Next time don't fall asleep and the plot won't confuse you.

He had an enormous gasoline-driven entourage that supplied pretty much all of the action throughout the entire movie. I'd say he wasn't easily killed.

Spoiler:
And why should his face be stronger than any other human beings? It got ripped off just like any other persons would have.
Personally I felt like it was a pretty fitting demise.. it left him vulnerable.

The plot bored me. You love just action. I need a little more.

The manner in which the ease in which she did so was the problem.

I'm going to download the soundtrack and do plan on seeing this again with the wife.

I prefer Hans zimmer, but Junkie is cool too. Can't wait to hear his Batman theme

Is he doing BvS?

Only the Batman theme. Hans didn't want to do it, because it felt weird doing another Batman one, so he hired his friend, Junkie.

Mad Max was #1 on Tuesday, which means it still has awesome holds. Go MAX MAX!

Hell yeah, it was a slow day apparently, but that's still awesome. It also did better this Monday than the previous Monday (previous Monday was Memorial Day, but still).

I'm sure the execs are paying attention to this stuff.

I think stellar reviews and word of mouth is serving it well.

I expected far better than this. Probably why I've never been a fan of the franchise.

WOM is very strong.

Saw this last night. Lived up to the hype, shockingly.

Loved how intimate the story was. Spent the whole flick stressed out that the escapees were all going to end up dying. Really great stuff. I wonder how it fits into the timeline of the other flicks

It's a revision of The Road Warrior/MM2. So the events of the first film happened and this is the [new] story that follows.

Oh so like, kinda retcon?

I wonder what the easter egg with the Gyro Captain's goggles really meant then.

Maybe that in this reality he was killed?

There were several little nods to the other films. One of the wives playing the metal music box was in regards to the feral-child in RW/MM2 who Max gives the box to.

Was it definitely after the events of Mad Max though? Because you'd think Charlize and them would have remembered what real life was like too

From what I've read, this film just reboots the second and the talking in the intro "oil wars" etc seem to indicate that the past is the same. iirc, Max also has a flash back of his child being killed? Maybe not though, as their are some holes.

His car in the beginning of FR still has the front valance, which I know he lost in the very beginning of RW/MM2 when he rammed another car. So the film is definitely before the events of RW/MM2 and the events of RW/MM2 couldn't take place now exactly the same, as his car was completely wrecked in FR.

So I'm guessing reboot/revision/retcon of film 2, with plot holes that we're just meant to ignore.

Right on, no matter - it was way better than the production history would have had you believe. Good on George Miller, man
