It was pretty anarchistic and a great job by old Miller, who puts younger directors like Zack Snyder to shame.

The only downside I felt was the character of Max. Other than that: top movie by a seasoned veteran.

I thought Max was the best part. I agree, the direction was fantastic though.

They're just keeping some mystery surrounding Max. There's nothing wrong with that. In fact it's probably better that way. Besides there are still the previous films for some backstory on him.

Mad Max is named best film of the year by NBR

I didnt have problem with Max other than him being a supporting character in his own movie.

Mad Max gets best picture nomination at the Globes. 😎

Didn't see that one coming, TBH.

So it seems serious Oscar nominations are coming.

I'm glad it's getting the recognition. I got the same feeling watching this when I watched Saving Private Ryan & Gravity for the first time - that I was witnessing filmmaking mastery, and the director was playing me like a piano, at Hitchcock once put it.

^ Yup.

I think it's safe to say that George Miller is an arteur.

After seeing this I put him up there with David Cronenberg and Stanley Kubrick.

This movie stunk.

I hope he gets a nod at the Oscars. Well deserved, IMO.

Quan, please.

There's no sense in arguing with Quan... Just leave the guy be.

Tarantino's favorite movie of the year was MM.

"It would have to be the Mad Max movie, 'Fury Road.' I got a print of 'Mad Max' on 35mm and I watched it in my house, and I had it all weekend and I ended up watching it three different times, and I resisted seeing it for a while because I was like, '"Mad Max" without Mel Gibson? Forget that!' In a world where Mel Gibson exists, how can you cast Tom Hardy?... Then I saw the movie and, 'Okay, it’s terrific,' and he’s pretty good in it, I have to admit."

Tarantino made numerous comments in the past to liking the MM franchise & like other Australian "road rage" movies for the stunt work & choreography involved.

Too bad his Death Proof was so horrible.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

didn't a certain someone and others say there would be another Mad Max by George Miller.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

It's understandable, he's 70 and this last one took him over three years to shoot.

I'm fine with someone else taking over, Miller can still help write and produce.

Me too. And I do hope he stays involved.

The movie was overrated. Maybe somebody else will make this actually exciting if it keeps going.

Well, considering movies with this amount of action, 70 year old Milled showed how it's done with Fury Road. I loved it... I loved the look and I loved it's anarchy. It's a rather bold film.

Quanchi112 didn't watch this, by his own words he fell asleep, so he's no one to judge.

I'd be willing to send him a copy, to cure his MM:FR sleep induced ignorance, but I can't rip to VHS tapes.
