George Miller was misquoted

Seeing as Fury Road did quite well at the BO and has 10 Oscar nominations, I'm betting there will be another MM.

Yup. But I'm sure Miller may take his time and not rush it.

^ Sure why not? He's got al the time in the world. I mean how old is he now like 25?

If you read the interviews, it was pretty heavy this time around. I think he's gonna try to avoid the delays he had.

Easily? 😕 Watch the movie again. Immortan Joe was hard to get to and kill, with all his armour and protection.
Once there was a confrontation he easily died. Try seeing my point and not ignoring it.

The delays were because of freak rains both in Australia then Africa turning the landscape into a mass of colourful wild flowers for months. It was a freak of nature.
Hell, it hadn't rained that heavy in Broken Hill (Aust) for 30 years prior to Miller filming.

Yeah, but he is an old man, so that didn't help his overall composure.

Mad Max: Fury Road is the best movie in years. It was so refreshing so watch. it deserves an oscar for best movie and best director.

max didnt need to have a back story, he didnt need one because we all know it anyways. max is pretty much a mythical story that you tell around campfires so hardy being max is very much possible, and it worked. hardy was great.

He didn't have all that much to do. But Charlize Theron was outstanding.

Good film.

I still stand my ground when I say Hardy's version of Max wasn't the best IMO.
He lacked the charisma Gibson had.
I have no qualms about Max playing second fiddle to Furiosa but he (Hardy) lacked that certain essence Gibson had in every scene that he was in.

Yes, I can agree with that. He didn't have much of an edge, like Gibson gave Max.

Even more impressive how that doesn't seem to harm the movie.

The crucial thing I missed is that Max is a very skilled scavenger. In Mad Max 2 we have in the beginning two great scenes: the lovely scene with the snake on the gyrocopter and the way he deals with the guys who try to stop him. In Thunderdome (not my favourite) there's the scene in Tina Turner's office where he has to fight off her thugs.

In this movie, we never really see why Max is an impressive road warrior. Furiosa does.

No one will ever replace Gibson. As crazy as that man is he is one of the most talented actors/directors out there. But Miller said the character needs an actor with that kind of nervous energy, and Hardy definitely has that (I think Miller was also thinking of Heath Ledger, too, right?) I think Hardy is great, too. He had to grow on me a little, but he's good. Watch The Drop. Good little subtle role there.

what do you guys think of this theory?

Yeah, Charlize Theron was fantastic.

Not a horrible theory all-in-all, considering Miller's said this is a continuation of the story and not a reboot or reimagined MM2/RW, as he first said early in.

Well, even then... I think you should get at least some idea that Max is someone to be reckoned with. I didn't think Max in Fury Road was very much that. Has nothing to do with Hardy's effort. More with the fact that he didn't get such defining scenes.

That black & white version of Mad Max: Fury Road may finally be on the way

Why a special edition B&W... you might as well turn the color off on your tv.

^ We discussed that a while back. Obviously they do a lot more contrast and level adjustments than simply applying a greyscale effect.

Also read that's how Miller wanted Fury Road to originally look like.

Remember the b&w TV series of The Addams Family?
The entire set & furniture props were pink & orange to achieve the desired grey scale for television.
