He sent back the troops too early.

It was obvious from the start that he was powerless against ISIS, now that there are no US troops on the ground.

Only solution now is to provide the Kurds stronger weapons.

That's what our military is for, Einstein. You think they get paid for just sitting on their asses? When you sign on the dotted line it's a given that you may have to fight for your country and perhaps even die for it. They're all volunteers. It's not like they were forced into the military against their will.

You seriously think we should just turn the other cheek when ISIS continues to behead people? What about all the people they've buried alive? You think that crime should go unpunished as well? A wise man (I forget who exactly) once said:

Oh yeah...and before you come back with some smart assed reply telling me that if I feel that strongly about it that I should join up with military, I've already put in my time during the Gulf War (Operation "Desert Storm"😉.

Sending troops back to Iraq and to Syria won't solve the problem, it will just have a palliative effect. As long as Iraq's government is still weak and fractured, another militant group will eventually rise up even if we destroyed ISIS.

Nah man, bullets can solve any problem, you just enough of them.

Yeah, you might be right. Just for the record, I wasn't necessarily suggesting sending troops in but I just hate it when people say stupid stuff like "Will you volunteer to fight?" when we have men and women in uniform that are paid to do stuff like that.

I thought that I read somewhere that our continued airstrikes were hurting ISIS. I think that's why they were trying to blackmail Japan because they need the money so badly. I mean, Japan is not participating in the airstrikes are they? So, they had no reason to do what they did to those 2 Japs other than the fact they are desperate for money. If that's the case, then perhaps troops are not necessary but they will probably just keep beheading people since I seriously doubt airstrikes alone will stop them from doing that.
