Directly after then war and for years after..

You implied that they still don't have a military when you said "they can't" (present tense)

Quit being a texas sharpshooter, you knew what I meant..

I wonder how much of Iraq and Syria ISIS would control by now if there HADN'T been the bombing campaign against them. Hell, if it weren't for the Kurds of both nations they'd probably control both countries now.

Most countries don't realize how big of a threat ISIS is. It controls half of Syria and after it captured Ramadi, it's only 70 miles from Baghdad. It's a wonder how the al-Assad regime is surviving with three other factions at war with it.

Did you criticize Bush, who started the targeted killings program?

And before you jump on this, let me clarify that I'm not saying that because Bush started it that absolves Obama in any way for intensifying the program, I'm simply trying to gauge how much of your outrage stems from the drone program itself and how much stems from Obama as a person.

This sounds like the Ole John Kerry "I voted for the war before I voted against it" 😆

I simply saying that Obama has had every opportunity to fix all this and he's only made it worse. If you wanna blame Bush for the next 30 years do so, however every President has the power to fix all the previous one mistakes. The drone program needs to be abolished. Its god power. And its un moral.

Well, I can't speak for the "God's power" part, but I agree with you otherwise. I think aside from civilian casualties, the main problem with drone strikes is that it makes waging undeclared war too easy and casual and cheapens the price of giving the kill command since none of our own forces are ever at risk. It takes out a lot of critical thinking that should go into deciding whether or not to pursue a target that exists when you're dealing with special forces who can get hurt or killed if there's a mistake.

God power meaning that it's click and person or people die off a screen. Only God should have that power of life and death. A drone is too much power with zero consequences.

God is controlling the drones, and his name is Obama.

Do you also oppose cruise missile strikes and guided missiles launched from stealth planes? Kind of the same thing, isn't it?

I'm not taking the bait on that, lets just agree we agreed on something.

Now I know why I've always thought God was such a piece of crap.

Turkey has joined the fray.

They started bombing ISIS in Syria.

About damn time. The question now is if Turkey will also start bombing the Kurds in Syria, or possibly even attack Al-Assad's forces. I hope they leave the Kurds alone--they're the only hope right now in Syria for a competent opposition to IS.

ISIS was rather foolish to attack Turkey. Before then the Turks had been satisfied to sit on their hands as ISIS gained power, now everything will be much more difficult for ISIS near the Turkish frontier.

Well, apparently they might actually attack the Kurds and Assad at some point in the future if this speculation is true.

I got an idea, you should visit Syria, Iran, Iraq or Afghanistan and let me know. We would have a lot to talk about since I already been there a few times. Maybe you could visit Iran first since they are the most tolerant of visitors and go from there.
