New 'Secret Wars' is Marvel Comics' major event of 2015

Punisher's scene was just that 1 page, right?

Anyway, it was awesome.

Yeah, just that one page, wherein he presumably kills all the villains in the bar before the incursion was able to take that glory away from him. 👆

Spoiler:
Sandman, Absorbing Man, Kingpin, Bullseye
and the others? Pure awesomeness 😄

So apparently TOAA's role and involvement in Time Runs Out is hinted to be revealed in the final issue of Loki: Agent of Asgard coming out May the 20th.

It's funny because you know it's going to be disappointing.

Omnipotent Race Confirmed.

New Map of Battleworld:

I found it pretty funny in today's issue when

Spoiler:
The Thor saw the raft opening and Terrax, Proxima and Glave just threw their weapons into him one by one.

Anyway pretty interested in where this is going, especially as we don't know

Spoiler:
the 616 raft is, at least the surviving section.

Interesting how Doom has become

Spoiler:
the alleged all-powerful/all-knowing God of Battleworld, and subjugated most of the heroes into his puppets.

Curious to see where that goes. 👆

And yet he makes Sue his wife.

Poor guy seems to have become nigh-omnipotent but he still has his inferiority complex.

Doom wanking is so boring, feel like I've seen this a million times before.

His Ult.Reed wanking is much more interesting. Here's hoping he tears this nonsense down 👆

And the art is just beyond amazing. Best artist in the industry, after quitely of course.

Yeah, Hickman's built Doom up so much at this point that most will just be relieved when he finally stops being the proverbial 'man behind everything'. Oh how I would love Maker to be the one who finally humbles him, but I have my doubts atm... My guess: it will be Doom who beats Doom.

I like Quitely, but I think Ribic's artwork is vastly superior overall--especially for this type of book(I wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much if Quitely had illustrated it, for example.) Personal preference, I guess.

Both are very talented but their styles are so different it's hard to compare. My one problem with Ribic is his faces sometimes look goofy.

Agreed. But then, so do Quitely's.

It's a wash there. 🙂

Doom as a god-emperor isn't a bad concept either, but we've just had him build himself up as a religion in order to make a last-ditch effort to stump the Beyonders.

To have all that amazing storytelling and great effort on Doom's part result in him sitting on a ****ing wooden throne with Sue to his left and some jew lawyer version of dr.strange to his right...

For this book Ribic is much better indeed, though I still think Quitely's the best when it comes to thinks like fluid motions, etc.

These two and Alan Davis are probably my top 3, but I won't bog the discussion down with this nonsense.

Oh, Quitely certainly has his problems as well. No disagreements there.

A lot of times Quitely seems off to me. Something usually puts me off at one point in time.
And I do not like Ribic's Thanos. Plus you can see the line where he mirrored him. Though Ribic makes some hilarious faces with Thor.

My personal favorite is Andrea Di Vito. It just works for battles, for moments, for everything. He might not be the best but I definitely enjoy looking at his art.

I'm a huge fan of Doom, but even I think that Hickman has taken this whole "all hope lies in Doom" theme to the absolute extreme. It's still an interesting story to be sure, but hopefully there will be more depth to it than meets the eye... I'm also starting to think that Thanos might just play a significant role in this after all(aside from just acting as a brick.) 👆

No argument there. 👆

Just a random thought. But do you think this tree here.

Spoiler:
is perhaps the same one Doom was sitting on in Secret Wars #2?

Might be wrong considering

Spoiler:
the tree was said to be Yggdrasil
but I just wondered. Been thinking about a load of stuff to do with Secret Wars today. Probably with most of it being rubbish.

I suppose it's possible that tree may have become Yggdrasil on Battleworld, but only time will tell for sure...

Yep.

Just so much stuff to process and go through. I'm glad all of the right characters are getting the spotlight. Except from one character who I would like to be about (I think you'd be able to guess who I'm talking about) but obviously Marvel have other plans.

The more I read the issue, the more it began to sink in. Something ain't right. Doom's been given all that he desired. And I think that's by design, but not by his own. I think he's been fooled into complacency by the Beyonders as a ploy to keep him from jeopardizing their plans. As Rabum Alal, Doom was the one who came closest to threatening them.

In which case, this isn't Doom-wank. He's been set up. A fantasy to sublimate his defiance.

And it's up to the Resurrection Survivors and the Cabal to tear it all down.
