These are impressive as long as you ignore his low end feats, Vader had trouble against in one-on-one much inferior rivals such as Sha Koon, Kai Hudorra, Cho'na Bene etc.
He dueled against Ben Kenobi as equals, who is inferior to his RotS and TCW versions (AotC can be debatable)
And he had hard time to keep up with RotJ Luke.
''Decades from his prime'' is means nothing unless you show a different and superior feat. Purge Vader was still able to contend with jedi masters, and in ANH-RotJ I didn't see any different power up from him. The power up between Purge and RotJ should be slightly for Vader. Ben Kenobi nor RotJ Luke were not more powerful than any PT Jedi Council level masters, or the likes of Savage, Ventress etc. Sure they are (Ben and Luke) formidable and possible a little better, but they were not one tier ahead of them.
