I think that zion is a matrix within the matrix. If Neo is a program and he exist in the "real world" then how could he stop the sentinels?. I think the architect explains that zion is a gathering place for all the "rebels" who NEED to wake up from the matrix. 99.9% of the people will take to the matrix...but that.01% need to be eliminated or the matrix will fail... zion is mearly a gathering of the minds not actual people. imagine a million people sleeping in the real world and the only way to find out who is going to **** up your good system of energy is by going into their dream..their false reality..of course you want your power supply to last forever hence...recreating the matrix so that almost all will acept it. the agents are after the good guys because they need to make the matrix last as long as posible. Agent smith was due for deletion ( being a program ) but he has turned himself into somewhat of a virus and he infects people with his hand ( this makes him grow ...grow ...grow ) It is very hard to stop a virus. I think the machines are too smart to just let everyone really wake up. and where are those machines??? we havent seen any? I predict that neo will wake up from this second matrix and that the earth will be as it is now....not scorched and he will walk up and unplug all the machines ...ha hah ah

Oh, dear. That topic has been covered a giga-zillion times here already. Sorry, the real world is real enough.

Neo was able to 'feel' the machines outside the Matrix after his encounter with the Architect, but not before.

And in the end of Reloaded, Morpheus says the war was suppose to be over after Neo reached the source, but if you listend to the Architect, Neo didn't go through the door to the source.

I'm about as confused as most folks. Someone think for me 😛

Well Morph didnt know that when the one reaches the source it all starts again.
