That's another article that says it needs to gross $750-$800million to break even. WB certainly have balls, have to give them that.

I doubt it would make loads of money if it's a stinker tbh.
BvS made plenty, even if it wasn't what they wanted.

Oh, that would be cool. First time a SH movie will feature all females. Could be good or disastrous.
If it's done right, I can't imagine it not doing well.

Of coarse there will be. That has been their gimmick with their blue-ray releases.
Guaranteed that the marketing push this time of the SS blue-ray is that it will have all the deleted Joker scenes.
Well you called it:

Well I personally don't think BvS was a full on stinker. That being said, this is Suicide Squad. It doesn't star DC's 3 biggest selling names, so would be a whole other story for it to do as well as BvS.
Eh, you can say it wasn't a stinker, but it wasn't very good either. If SS isn't better than BvS, then I worry for the future of these movies.

Harley sells more than WW in comics. 😉 She's probably more popular than WW in the teen demography.
Maybe, but WW is still known more worldwide.

So you're saying this will make money even if it sucks?
As for the box office so far:
Suicide Squad might be taking a critical beating in North America, but the first day of overseas grosses has been nothing but positive. The ensemble super-villain pic brought in $8.1 million from 7 markets on Wednesday, including a $2.9 million debut from 732 screens in South Korea. The Korean debut is the second biggest opening day of all time for Warner Bros., the biggest August opening day of all time for a U.S. film, the fourth biggest bow for a superhero flick, and the biggest debut for stars Will Smith and Margot Robbie in the market.
SK and France are exceptional, but even that Sweden OD is fantastic. CW made 3.6m there in it's entire run, while BvS made 3.9m. Even if it's frontloaded SS will make more than that.
The UK market will be brought down because of Brexit:
Well, one thing is for sure, this likely won't touch BvS's $57m in the UK, because of post-Brexit ER. The same gross in pounds would only be $48.5m today. £40m, which is more than Deadpool, BvS and Civil war (all made $57m, remarkably) would equal $52m, so it'll have a hard time even reaching $50m.
And in portugal:
The biggest movie ever is Avatar. The biggest OW ever is Fast & Furious 7. Suicide Squad will do maybe half of the OW of FF7, which is more than enough to become the biggest superhero OW here.
SS is having a fantastic start so far. Even ahead of DP, CW, and BVS. We'll see how the legs are next week.

DC need their version of IM1 that's for sure. A spectacular film that everyone loves. They've failed to give that so far. And I don't think we will get that until there's some major internal restructuring with the way DC Films are run.

if this fails to live up to their expectations then I won;t be at all suprised if in a few months it is announced that they have made changes to the DCEU film slate as well as internaly

The sad thing is, if they made at least one of the movies closer to the comics, I'm sure they'd get their IM1.
Wonder Woman MIGHT be it, but I doubt it.

Looks like no China on the release schedule:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1386697/releaseinfo
This will have a hard time hitting that $700mill it needs to break even without China.
Why 700? If budget was 175, it doesn't need 700 to break even.
The film is directed by David Ayer and stars Margot Robbie, Will Smith, and Jared Leto as supervillains who are enlisted by the U.S. government to undertake covert operations. Warner Bros. spent $175 million making the movie, and is shelling out millions more to promote and distribute the pic.
I swear, you guys are hypocrites. If Warcraft's budget was 168 and ONLY made 433 M WW (Which you guys claimed for the LONGEST time that it made it's money back), then why does SS need to make 700? Doesn't make sense.

And don't bring up marketing costs, because that number is hard to pin down with accounting tricks.
