So do you really think a movie that cost less to make than BVS needs 700-800 to break even? The studio even stated that the 800 figure for BVS was inflated. Now if a new report comes out that states the production budget is higher than 175, then I'll concede, but most people were claiming the budget was 180 at most. Just common sense.

Well perhaps the marketing cost more for SS. Remember BvS was getting some of it's marketing costs back via sponsors.

Anyway I'm just going by what's been reported. The articles you're talking about haven't mentioned anything about the break even figure.

How do you know it cost more? Or that SS didn't get any marketing costs from sponsors? Even if we tack on another 100 million for marketing, SS making 700 would still garner profit.

pretty sure it didn't cost 300+ million to make this movie.

the way i've always heard it explained (from people who actually make movies for a living), is that, making double the production budget is like the movie never happened... meaning, you broke even.

Well, I've just watched Suicide Squad.

I might be in the minority, but holy damn, I LOVED IT!!! It has everything that MOS and BVS didn't have. It had characters that you care about. It had more character development thatn both BVS and MOS together. The soundtrack is really good. Action was perfectly fine.

I was truly expecting it to be trash and horrible. Cinema was full, lots of sellouts here in Brazil. People clapped during several scenes.

Will Smith surprised me, I was ready to hate him. I hated when he was cast as Deadshot, but he was really fine and had several funny lines. The movie is flawed and it had several scenes cut ( I missed some of them from previous trailers ), but it was really, really and really enjoyable! People really loved it.

Many people were leaving the theater and saying it was miles better than BVS. Yeah, critics disliked and hated it. It happens. Critics are giving their opinions, so they must be respected. However, like X-Men Apocalypse ( which I loved ), I also disagree with the bad reviews for Suicide Squad. It was a good experience and I was worried about the movie sucking, 5 minutes before watching it.

People need to stop with the hyperbole, though. Fantastic Four should be buried, forgotten, burned and erased. This movie has nothing in common with FF, I say absolutely nothing. here were cuts in SS and its easy to say, but it's nothing too much absurd or horrible enough to dismiss the entire movie.

So, 100% better than BVS and MOS. WB needs to stop cutting movies. I want to see more of the Suicide Squad. I want to see these guys again. Thanks everyone and have a good night.

So I went ahead and sad this movie and I day that its not that bad. Its certainly the best movie that the DCEU has put out: I know that doesn't mean michal of anything considering the current state of that verse

It is not that bad isn't really conveying you even enjoyed yourself. All that tells us is you don't think it was bad but that it isn't good either.

What an unmitigated disaster. I went in with very low expectations and it failed to meet even those. Personally, I felt it was significantly worse.

Some of the characters were alright. I enjoyed Flagg, Waller, and Boomerang. However, Deadshot was easily the highlight of the film. Now admittedly I'm not very familiar with the character so some more hardcore fans may disagree but I loved what Smith did with the character and he had one standout action scene.

Unfortunately, the rest of the characters were pretty weak. Yes, even Harley. While her jokes were funny within the trailers they almost all fell flat within the context of the film. She just came off as obnoxious unfortunately. The Joker too was badly handled. He didn't seem to be absolutely batshit and he came off as almost heroic(?). As for the villain, one of the worst I've ever seen. Just downright horrible. And people thought Lex was bad...

I do understand the animosity toward's Leto's Joker but the complaints about the appearance are like the 5th thing wrong about the overall potrayal. Still think its the best of the DC movies just on the principle that it did not let me down nearly as bad as BvS.

Truthfully, I enjoyed the King Kong and Wonder Woman trailers at the beginning of the film more than the film itself. The plot is one if the worst I've ever seen in a superhero flick.
