Well when people are going on about how the DCEU is breaking records and beating Marvel's Phase I at the box office, it's worth pointing out that these DC movies are not making much profit. They're only grossing more because they're spending much more on marketing than Marvel ever did at that stage.

Star Trek probably won't break even, and I'm glad because it sucked.

I'm pretty sure you don't know how much profit WB is getting unless you work in their accounting department. MOS made back a crap load in promotional tie ins. Same with BVS. So exactly how much profit did it make?

So far, SS is doing gangbusters overseas. Even if it has horrible legs, which it probably will at this point, it will still make a profit.

How are you managing dmg control, Golgosaurus?

He's basically saying that, "yea it might suck, but it's still making bank and that's what is important".

Nothing ever changes in the Golgoworld...

Talking about box office only. And how their Big budget, Big Grossing, but weak legs shows people are aware of them but they aren't really winning people over the way Marvel did in their Phase I.

If it has horrible legs, then surely all the money it's going to make is down to crap loads spent on marketing it 😬

I would have liked Star Trek to make money, tbh. Would have given them reason to make more movies. That and with a new show coming out, positive buzz would be great.

They will definitely make more because the last 2 made money. But at least they got the message that they went in the wrong direction with this one.

Kind of sad, imo. I enjoyed it more than Into Darkness, which I thought was a poor movie.

I thought Into Darkness was a good movie, just didn't think it was a good Trek movie.

I didn't think it was either of those things, tbh, but that's me.

God damn it I don't give a shit about how much money a movie makes why do both sides of the fences use that as some kind of litmus test for quality. Is the movie ****ing good or not?

You have no proof that they spent loads on marketing without tie ins. :/ just more speculation from you.

Btw civil war had weak legs too. Yet, it had stellar reviews.

Moreover, why is there a fence at all?

Well because it's making so much on its Opening Day and OW despite terrible reviews and reports suggest it needs 700mill+ to break even 😬

Civil War had weaker legs than expected, yes. But not as bad as BvS. And it's a bad comparison anyway. If you want to compare the DCEU to Marvel Phase 3 then that's an even more one sided comparison.

I'm sitting in the theater waiting for the movie to start. 25 minutes to go and it's filling up fast.

That doesn't mean marketing was more expensive than usual. If anything, marketing has gone down, because of social media. Green lantern cost 200 million alone. No way SS is that expensive. I don't believe 700 to break even. Now if there is an official number, then I'll concede, but I'm not going to believe speculation.

The more I think about this film the more ridiculous it seems. For example

Spoiler:
Where were Batman, Flash, and Wonder Woman, when the message in Midway City was going down. And if it was not mentioned already that Enchantress makes a dumb villian...yeah she's that.

But whoever is seeing this should try to have fun.
