Suicide Squad

The marketing was selling Joker as the main bad guy. Stop denying it.

Uhh, no.

uhhhh, yes.

i (and everyone i saw the movie with and talked to) definitely went into the movie thinking Joker was the main antagonist... or at the the very least, an integral MAIN character.

When Jared Leto himself thinks he has a bigger role in the movie, something is very wrong imo.

Also this movie's characters were stupid. The writing was lazy. You can argue that the movie is good and that good is objective depending on the person. You can't tell movie these characters weren't stupid.

Waller wants to form task force X to fight Superman level threats.
- What's a psycho with a bat, a guy that throws Boomerangs, a guy that can climb anything, and the best marksman going to do to a Kryptonian??
Waller: the next war will be fought with these meta humans.
- So why the f#ck are Harley, Boomerang, or Slipknot on this team? They ain't metas.
Top US officials went along with her. Did none of these people think about the idiocy of her plan? Half the team have no super powers at all.
Enchantress knows their desires and can create illusions but doesn't seem to know Harley was tricking her at the end. Wtf??
Rick Flagg and Waller had hand held device with the bomb trigger being an app, any competant villain would taken them down before they could have pressed the button.

I didn't think the Joker was the main villain going in. Nothing in the trailers implied that he was. I mean why would they need to to assemble a squad of superpowered beings to bring the Joker in?

Uhh, no.

Then why would they put Joker dead center of a movie poster if they're not trying to sell him as a main character?

The Joker made WAY more sense to be the main villain than a true super powered threat considering what characters were in the SS.
This team of bumbling criminals was better suited for a Joker type threat.
Only person that had super powers was El Diablo. (and maybe Croc to a slight degree) The rest were either people with mental problems or soldier types.

That was one of the highlights of the marketing. The trailers gave little away. Most people didn't know who the main villain was. If you thought the Joker was the main villain, you were guessing.

The SS doesn't just fight street level opponents. lol. I'm assuming you don't read the comics.

Im talking about the movie versions and how they were portrayed, marketed, etc. Thats what we are talking about here. 😬

So you are saying that they heavily marketed Joker to trick the general audience into going to see this movie. Got it.

Maybe Croc?

I can't tell if you're joking or not.

Are you under the impression that Harley, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and Slipknot had powers?

Yeah, the same characters in the movie were pretty much identical to the comics for the most part. I had no problem with a super powered character as the main villain. Would the Joker have been better? Yes, but that's why these soldiers get thrown into these suicide missions, because they're almost impossible for them to succeed.

Besides his swimming/water "abilities" he was just another strong brick. (movie)Bane type. I dont recall any over the top strength feats that clearly put him in Cap range.

They say there is no such thing as a dumb question. But I think you keep proving that wrong.

So are you saying he's basically just a regular dude who swims pretty good?

You're the one that called it a squad of superpowered beings.

I've never seen that poster. Try posting the theatrical ones where most people see at the theater. Joker isn't dead center on either of them. Stop cherry picking.
