It was announced the other day...

I've heard from reliable sources that it felt like it was chopped to hell and Jared Leto seemed pissed that his parts were cut so much.
Personally, I think it would have been better to cut out the Joker entirely. He didn't really contribute anything to the movie apart from Harley's origin story which was unnecessary as well. It would have worked better, imo, if they had included the scene at the end where he breaks her out as a post-credit scene.
I liked the main story and most of the characters, thought the soundtrack was excellent but felt there were too many distractions which detracted from my enjoyment.

I was going to buy this on home video anyways so I'm cool with the extra 13 minutes.BTW SS surpassed Deadpool's overseas total this weekend but it won't catch it overall though.
Yup!
Screendaily - Suicide Squad has now grossed $419.6m, overtaking Deadpool’s overseas tally.
I'll be buying it, too.
God what a travesty this movie was. I hardly know where to begin...
It was frustrating because if it was done properly I think it could be a lot of fun, because there were a couple elements of the narrative that worked pretty well, like Deadshot's daughter and the way enchantress fu#ked with their minds, but instead of being cool it was confusing because it felt like another fu*king flashback or something. The movie had way too many characters, I mean every 5 minutes for the first like hour they would introduce another character.
And holy Jesus, I had heard that they used several pop songs in the beginning so I told my friend and we tried to count them. I was expecting maybe 4 or 5 tops... We lost fuc#ing count!! There were at LEAST 15-20! And you know I could even forgive that, but they had no consistent theme and most of them did not even fit the scene they were in (with the exception of the Eminem song while they were getting dressed, that fit pretty well), but the fuc#ing Rolling Stones song, Black Sabbath, lil Wayne during the credits... and they even used one of the songs from Guardians of the Galaxy.. f#cking stupid.
There was Captain point out the obvious Soldier Guy who would immediately explain what happened or needed to be done even though it had just been covered like, "Oh, now get the heart!!"
What was especially irritating was that some of the character flashbacks would have made far more interesting and narratively sound films than whatever the hell this was. Like the background on Enchantress. I would watch a movie focused on that. Same with Will Smith's Deadshot. A movie with him juggling his daughter and carrying out hits could be really good. Harley Quinn and Joker needed their own f#cking movie of course. I wanted to see the movie of the people in funny masks and suits shooting places up. The panda bear suit is gold. But nope.
And back to the climax with Enchantress and the weird Gods of Egypt guy. That shit looked stupid as hell. It felt like a remake of Ghostbusters without the good setup and with worse design and CGI. And her minions that she sent out to get them... There was no tention at all, they were easily disposed of, no real peril. Boring.
This movie was a mess and it's a shame because it could have been fun with a much different approach. I'm getting sick of Marvel movies, but at least they know how to build and setup a world with real character and plot development. This is why I didn't want to support this film in the main theaters because there was so much studio fuc#ery and the filmmakers were clearly required to follow orders. So I might willing be to give a Director's or Extended Cut a chance. If nothing else just for comparison.
Oh, and Killer Croc was unintentionally funny.. haha.. he had to have his BET.. he had the most character depth.. 😆
I don't think I've ever seen such a wide gap between how good the trailers were and how poor the finished product is. The trailers were great, and I'm sure that's what saved this movie at the box office.
Between this and the other Ghostbusters remake this year I'm losing faith in movies. 😠 😘
