Seems to be working. Tony Stark is extremely popular these days, IM 3 destroyed man of steel at the box office.
Difference is IM3 was complete garbage. And most the people who saw it realized that considering it had double the box office of MOS but couldn't match it in Dvd/Blu-Ray sales.
Anyway it's a fair point about IM for anyone complaining Batman is featuring too much in the DCCU.

Overall profit is what matters not just DVD sales, kiddo.
Your opinion which isn't a fact.

Pretty much.
-People liked a film = more likely to buy the DVD
-People didn't like a film = less likely to buy the DVD
Not sure why this notion is confusing to some.

Exactumundo.
People go to the pictures have no idea if they'll enjoy the movie or not.
People buying on Dvd- Its because they liked the movie and want it in their Dvd collection.
No. of Dvd's sold = Factual information (which we know Quanchi loves so much).
So logically taking the facts, it's clear more people liked MOS than IM3.
Probably more accurate to say: "a higher percentage of the people who watched MoS liked it, compared to the percentage who watched IM3", at least that's what DVD sales seems to suggest.
As ticket sales tells us that more people went to see IM3 overall. Which isn't surprising, considering it was film #3 of a popular franchise, while MoS was a reboot and had a subpar film of the same character preceding it.

Yeah, it was Superman's first film that is the start of the DCCU. IM had the benefit of having that snowball effect and the Avengers effect. Still, MOS did quite well.

There was more hype around MOS than IM3, which shouldn't be surprising.
