Firstly no one knew for sure MOS was the beginning of a new DCCU. I mean we were told the same thing about Green Lantern. In any case your general public certainly did not know that.
Second, the stink of Superman Returns and Green Lantern was so bad. People were generally of the impression that Superman or Dc characters just can't be good films, because they're perhaps "too powerful" or "too out there. "
And no, MOS did not have more hype to it than IM3. If it did it would have had a higher opening weekend. IM3's OW was double that of MOS.
Just face it IM3 sucked, whilst MOS shed a lot of love. MOS was a "you loved it or hated it" kind of movie. IM3 was more of a "you hated it, or thought it was ok".

Probably more accurate to say: "a higher percentage of the people who watched MoS liked it, compared to the percentage who watched IM3", at least that's what DVD sales seems to suggest.
A LOT Higher. Considering more people actually bought MOS on Dvd than IM3, despite twice as many people having seen IM3 in theatres compared to MOS.

Point: It's the last Superman most people had on their minds and it wasn't very good. But Routh Superman isn't part of the new DCU (Caville, Affleck, Gadot etc), he was part of the Reeve's series. Already explained this to you, if you like, I can do so again. LMK.
🙂
How things have changed. Dc is playing follow the leader right now.

Impressions last and it was only 7 years or so. But you're just being argumentative and belligerent for the sake of being argumentative and belligerent.
Originally posted by RobtardI didn't hear anyone saying I won't see that based off superman returns. People judged batman begins based on the merits of the film not what Clooney did, asshat.

Yeah, people didn't know that before watching MOS, because a DCCU wasn't confirmed until after.

Who cares if you personally didn't hear? Begins was an entirely different take than the cartoonish B&R.But you're just being argumentative and belligerent for the sake of being argumentative and belligerent.
Batman begins was awesome.
