Ayer already stated that SS had a lot of humor way before the movie wrapped up.

Mark Strong's Sinestro...probably one of the good things from that poor Green Lantern movie.
True but he wasn't a villain in the film.

Yeah that was blatant propaganda. We saw it was clearly a fun movie from trailer 1.

If DC has one edge over Marvel it's going to be this.I don't think Marvel could put together a film of their villains working together and having fans care about it.
They kinda already loosely did with Gaurdians . The villains in SS are mostly unknowns besides joker , Hartley and Croc.
X-Men also did it. Having Magneto, Mystique and a few other usually bad guy mutants play anti heroes working together.

I think that's why there is do much buzz. Part of it is because of its originality. Marvels answer will be sinister six.
In a recent interview on “The Howard Stern Show,” actor and comedian Ike Barinholtz — who plays an undisclosed role in “Suicide Squad — gave an offhand mention of the potential budget of the flick.
“This is the biggest movie I’ve ever done by a factor of 10. I mean, I think the budget was north of 250.”
This was before the reshoots.
