Also I dont get why people are saying this is the DCU's Guardians. Other than having some obscure characters and similar-ish plot its not the same.

That would be like Marvel studios including Marvels most popular hero AND including Marvels most popular Villain in Guardians of the Galaxy. Even if it was just a small cameo.
GOTG would be similar to Suicide Squad if Spiderman and Dr. Doom/Magneto had cameos in the movie.

Well GOTG did have Thanos. Granted the majority didn't know who he was by name but I'm sure they recognised him as the big villain pulling the strings at the end of A1 (and intrigued by him).
