Lol! Good point, let's get back to the Schwarzenegger Commando days.

Leto seems legit as Joket.

And you had doubts?....when the guy has won awards for his work in Dalles Buyers Club.

Don't bet against my squad: Suicide Squad > TDK OW and Over TDK's Overseas gross

Who's in?

Reasons: - marketing has been everywhere and it has been great. The CC trailer from last year generated an insane amount of buzz, and the trailers have arguably gotten better from there. People know this movie is coming out

- As with what some have been calling "superhero fatigue" lately, what many have agreed upon is that a lot of this fatigue is occurring when the film's resemble more or less the same thing (add nothing "new" to the table). Take a look at GOTG or Deadpool; they each offered something relatively new to the genre, and it paid off beautifully for them. I think the villain approach here will offer up more of the same.

- whether or not you like Leto's take on the Joker, the return of a classic characters less than a decade after Heath Ledger's turn should generate some interest of it's own

- While he ain't what he used to be, Will Smith is still a box office draw (when he's in the right kind of film cause let's face it, Focus was never going to be a giant smash hit). Could draw in some of the older crowd.

- the PG-13 rating will allow some younger kids and teens to see the film that couldn't see Deadpool. Or at least, they won't have to buy a ticket for another movie and then sneak in, this helping SS's box office

- online activity on this film has been insane the past few months

Per Boxofficemojo.com

Next weekend sees the release of Suicide Squad into over 4,150 theaters. It's going to be the widest August release of all-time and is looking to become the first August release to open over $100 million. In fact, don't be surprised if this one opens above Deadpool's $132.4 million and could very easily top $145 million. Also opening is Kevin Spacey's talking cat movie, Nine Lives, which is currently looking at a soft opening around $4-5 million.

I can't see this beating Deadpool let alone Guardians.

^ Deadpool's OW way way bigger than Guardians. In fact Deadpool ended up outgrossing Guardians in every way.

Anyway screw the predictions now, we'll find out in a few days.

Cinema Blend predicts 75% RT score for this.

as long as this turns out good, then the box office won't matter

How does BO not matter? If it bombs, WB isn't going to do a sequel.

So you should hope it doesn't bomb. But how do you know you even want a sequel before seeing how good it is?

Also reception is way more important for the DCEU right now than box office.

They're both equally important, dude.

^ Usually yeah. In fact usually box office is more important. But for DC films right now? I'd definitely say Reception.

They desperately need a movie that everyone loves.

This will probably go unanswered by Golg's

WB runs a business, of course, so obviously money is where it's at. Hence why they keep on making crappy Transformers movies. If you guys were to just stop watching them, they wouldn't make anymore. 😂

You'd keep watching.

As much as they need money, what they REALLY need is a movie to be as critically acclaimed as it is successful. As much as I can defend MoS, it has its problems. BvS, well, everyone knows what its issues are.

They need a good solid movie if they're going to win back people's faith.
