That's what I'm hearing. Here is a brief rundown on all the reactions.
I 'm on reddit now and reactions are coming from everywhere. Many users who hated_BVS, are liking SS._
Now, general reactions about the movie in a nutshell:

1) Leto's Joker is a mix bag. Many aren't liking him, many aren't caring about him, many thought he was ok. Very few people loved him.

2) Villain sucked or villain was disappointing. I'm getting Thor The Dark World and X-Men Apocalypse vibes from the reactions, regarding the villain.

3) Margot Robbie and Will Smith steal the show. Some are saying that Will Smith is playing himself, but very few users have said that.

4) Action is well done.
_
5) Croc is funny, but barely had lines ( just like Katana ).
_
6) No complaints about the movie being way too dark and depressing.

7) Good action pieces.

That's it. Joker is getting divisive reaction, but as a whole, movies doesn't seem to be bad.
If Joker's not well received then they've royally screwed up.

First 2 films sold less tickets than IM1 and IM2 domestically. And those were Batman and Superman films. And one was an event film.
And their biggest event movie- Justice League, will not make even close to A1.
No point in comparing to Marvel. There is no comparison tbh.

Money is where it matters most for the STUDIO. And it grossed more than IM 1. BO wise, DCEU is breaking records and will probably earn more at the BO than most of the MCU movies.

Profit. It's all about profit. Not who grosses more with 3D, IMAX, inflation and the rapidly increasing international market. And IM1 and IM2 made way more profit than MOS and BvS.
Avengers and Avengers2 will likely remain top of the box office, and the most popular franchise.
In fact I doubt any DC film will even make as much as IM3.
Honestly stop trying to compare it to Marvel. It simply ain't there yet.

Not world wide it didn't. And you also have to add dvd sales and merchandise to that as well. That's another area where studios collect "profit". And so far BvS is doing quite well.

Studio's still like dvd/blu-ray sales?.....i read something recently they don't give a shit about that now, Since not alot of people aren't buying those with the rise of digital sales.

So Batman and Superman combined sold more in merchandise than Iron Man. Is that supposed to be some kind of impressive accomplishment?

If we include digital sales they still sell quite a bit. Not everyone downloads illegally. And you can never guarantee which films will pop up on Netflix and when.

Yes, and if they want to maximise their profits, they need to make better movies than they have already. People will only tolerate poor filmmaking for so long.

Can't compare worldwide due to China having expanded so massively over the last few years.
So there's no comparison at all to MCU's Phase I IMO. Especially when you consider Marvel used B-List characters whereas DC have used the Big 3 already, and are capitalizing on those 3 throughout their Phase I.

BvS did better in most markets. Marvel boasted their ww gross at a convention, which was pretty impressive. All I'm saying is wb will break that record. DCEU will have 3 movies total that will break 100 m ow. That's impressive no matter how you slice it.

Nah, people have short terms memories. There was huge buzz for justice League and Wonder Woman at comic con. All because of a little humor. It's rinse and repeat here. It's the same with a lot of big blockbusters.
