Just watched this.

I'd rather have new DBZ content than not, but this was a POS.

A powerhouse gets taken out by some pew pew laser ring?

Gohan turns SSJ?

This is a mess big time.

Honestly, as much as people complain about GT, this seems sloppier.

(I mean, remember the GT complaint? 'What happened to Mystic Gohan, why's he a super saiyan again'? Yeeeea.)

Nothing is worse than GT.

^ So GT>>>Bio Broly? 😐

I do wonder why Toriyama suddenly decided to hate on Gohan though.

The worst part is that he wasn't sure if he could even transform into a SSJ anymore, due to lack of training... Yet he had no problems going 'Mystic' AND SSJ in BoG(which was set only a few months prior to RoF.)

Ridic.

More like a year but yeah still dumb.

A year at the absolute most, given that Pan still appeared to be a newborn in RoF

Yeah but then you get Freeza training for four months. Since Videl is pretty early in her pregnancy in BoG we're looking at 12-13 months.

Semantics.

True, that's why I said 'at the most'. 👆

But yeah, going from powering up to his Mystic and SSJ forms w/o an issue...To not even sure if he can transform into a SSJ at all...In roughly a year... Is laughably ridiculous.

Everyone in DBZ is a dried up pussy now, compared to Goku, Vegeta, Bills and Whis now.

This movie fell like a bad filler in some scenes. The whole Z warriors vs freeza soldiers.

Picollo losing to a Zarbon level soldier ?

Soldiers giving Kulilin a fight ? Yet losing to Jaco and a random sea monster.

I tough this movie would be better.

Btw, Galan, how you see Freeza attack to destroy the planet ? That was a phisical attack ? TK ?

Mystic Gohan was in his base. He was as strong as his potential allowed, that's why he couldn't go Super Saiyan when he tried.

This picture explains it pretty well.

I think it was a new type of energy attack that he fired into the earth's core, tbh.

The attack was strangely depicted, though, so I can see how the TK concept arose.

That's all been retconned. As of BoG, Gohan could access both his Mystic and SSJ states. As of RoF, Gohan could no longer access his Mystic amp, and wasn't even confident that he could access SSJ.

And have we *ever* had such a major decrease like that...?

I mean, from Cell to Buu saga, Gohan decreased a *little*. He was a less-strong SSJ2.

I liked the Baby saga and the dark star dragon saga.

Gohan was never a SSJ in BoG.

He originally did but it was changed due to backlash

You mean in the trailers?

That's how it was originally drawn but again due to fan backlash it was changed.

Gohan can go Super Saiyan after becoming Mystic Gohan. At least according to my translation.

Also Q99 you liked elements of GT(The Baby story has a lot of elements of Invasion of the Body Snatchers and the Shadow Dragons were an interesting twist on the search for the dragon balls) but come on. The execution is lame and terrible. For as much crap as the new movies are getting, GT couldn't even keep Vegeta relevant until the final fight. Goku and SSJ4 literally solved everything.

The execution of some elements were bad, but I did quite like a number of the fights.

Sure, Goku solved everything... but that was a problem back in the later Buu saga too. And the Goku vs Babi Vegeta fight was still dramatic, as was the Shin and Omega Shenron battles.

While even the best wasn't up to the standards of the better parts of Z, and it's bad parts were pretty bad, the better parts were better than the weaker parts of Z.

And I'm including this new stuff in 'the weaker parts of Z' now.
