So, RoF apparently outsells BoG in under 3 weeks in Japan.

AT tested the water, and the fans wanted more DBZ.

This is probably why AT is coming back with DBZ Super.

No more non-canon junk like DBGT.

No. If you heard that, it certainly wasn't from any official sources.

And frankly, introducing Broly into his films would require Toriyama to merge two different timelines --one that he considers canon to the manga, and another that he considers non-canon to the manga-- which I don't think he's prepared to do.

I'm just hoping that the new series is entertaining. Didn't much care for BoG and this film isn't doing much to sway me over even with the Shiny Frieza.

Well you can either read the RoF manga, which details the entire film up to the point where Freeza activates his Golden form, or you can DL the film /w/ fan subs.

I did both. 🙂
