The pipeline will go through, and Obama has lied about that one as well. Even though he says he is against it, the pipeline is actually still being built.

The XL portion of the project hasn't started yet, it's still under review and has been taken up by the NE supreme court.

Regardless there has to be exchanges made. When the congress and senate take over, they will push the deal through. As a matter of fact it went up for vote again a few weeks ago under the current Senate, and failed. This will be passed when the new Senate sits in January.

Possible I guess. But why the Obama hate over it then?

I didn't say I hate him over it:/ I have never said I hated him. Am I critical of some of his choices, absolutely.

The Cuba thing is retarded though. He spoke to neither side about this and he is just losing control of himself and his policy after losing in the latest election because he realizes after January he is gonna be a lame duck even more; and these rants of his affect the country.

"Hate" was a blanket term. You specifically said "Obama lied about it; it's still being built".

Come on, dude.

Well it is still being built even though he said it was stopped, yes?

When can I get my Cuban cigars?

Now. Buy Nicaraguan cigars. They buy the best Cuban tobacco and roll the cigars in Nicaragua. Completely legal in America, same quality.

He's trying a balancing act, because he knows he can't appear to be "anti-jobs" or "anti-economic growth" during a time of recovery, but he also can't sell out the liberal environmentalist base that got him elected.

The thing about the Keystone Pipeline is that there's lots of exaggeration on both sides. It probably won't create nearly as many stable jobs or generate as much money as proponents suggest, but the danger it poses to the environment is probably also not nearly as great as detractors claim.

I noted that it's (XL portion) currently on hold and under review by the NE supreme court. So no, it's not being built as of today.

Also, iirc, Obama wasn't flat against it as in a "never, no way, not gonna happen", his admin wanted changes to the proposed plan(s).

But if you think it's being built, why the grief, you were pro more domestic oil in this same thread.

Just a month ago, he said he was flat out against it...so is this another John Kerry "I was for the war, before I was against it."

Back to Cuba, I'm laughing at everyone's support here because they think these people are going to be able to buy cars and iPods when the average salary is $20 a month.

Poor people buy shit they can't afford all the time. It's the nature of consumerism, really. I live with two working class people (one of them is Cuban) who barely make enough to pay their bills and they're constantly buying shit off Amazon that they don't need.

I'm sure there were people saying this about the Chinese when we first started investing in them. As investment grows, the Cuban economy will grow, wages will rise, and consumption will increase. For a Conservative, you really don't seem to understand how capitalism works.
