Golden Jedi are great but not in a matter of military power.....
Qui-Gon Jinn and Mace Windu admit it in épisode I and II ! That's was before TWC and the "if we must be soldier we will be the best soldier than the galaxy have ever seen..."
The battlefield condition of the great galactic war provide an hudge battlefield experience to the Jedi of this era, they are soldier not duelists... But they fight sith more often than golden era Jedi could have imagine...
