^ They also couldnt make Tony an alcoholic.
They would have made the cash because Avengers still would have happened (Disney purchased them just shortly before Avengers). George Lucas also struggled with money when making the first Star Wars.
But yes obviously Disney secured them for the short and long term. And they obviously wouldnt have the X-Men and FF back now if not for Disney.
I can understand how they were not up to the challenge to tell that story, as it would be incredibly challenging.
Moving away from it now, what I can't understand... is how they had the awesome story arc that Extremis was -- tailor-made for a movie -- and botched it all up.
It didn't even have Mallen. And Mallen was basically "Batman gone wrong" type of a villain. It would sell.
Eric Savin is not even from Iron Man books. Wtf.
Maya Hansen was completely forgettable in the film.
Extremis virus produced some cannon fodder idiots. Unlike its comic counterpart - Mallen was a powerhouse all on his own.
and make that a THREEPEAT of movies i thoroughly enjoyed this year
sat back
relaxed
and was pretty mesmerised by the MONSTER PUNCH up on the screen
much better than the first one, and all those big ol' monsters roaming about now
of course MOTHRA is now a stone cold fav of mine, so i'll join the queue then 😍
funny (the three stooges name gicen to the heads, 'zilla shoving them into a building), exciting, TENSE (that scene where they open the shield and he's just sitting there with his back scales pulsing away)
and even cared about the silly humans stories, although didn't really notice doctor graham's death, only realising when her picture and profile was on a screen and serizara crying, and yeah the eco terrorists were a little thin but you knew what they were up to ..... well right up to when emma exploderised mega git ghidorah out of his ice tomb!
effects were very good, the awe inspiring sense of scale, and some drop dead GORGEOUS cinematography (mothra's dive bomb, rodan's fight with monarch and his surprisingly frightening speed, ghidora's lightning attack, the antarctic battle) and i there wasn't as much trolling of the viewers as in the first movie .....
excellent and actually want to go see this again

Marvel Studios wouldn't have taken the risk to make the movie, let alone hire James Gunn of all people. Lol.
Pre-Disney MCU history says differently.
They made Iron Man with Robert Downey. People forget what a massive risk that was.
And they took out a massive loan to get that made. By the time of GOTG, they were already massively bankable.
