Yeah, but Hermans not a psycho. Out of all of Spideys villains, Herman embodies the typical old school New York thug the most. They need to get him right in that he has a short temper and throws down constant threats, but also acts in a more professional and rational manner when carrying out jobs if compared to those like Rhino or Vulture. His motivations are never revenge or targeting Spidey directly. He's always looking towards personal gain, so he's not petty or personal in his encounters with heroes. His lack of confidence wasn't really like electros either. Just more a healthy crippling fear of encountering heroes that would leave him permanently crippled or killed. The dude used to have a fear of the Punisher too. He's just careful and paranoid, as opposed to unconfident in his abilities. He understood that the world was a dangerous place for a criminal and acted accordingly.
We have yet to have a Spidey villain like him in the movies. I've always liked Herman because he's unique and the most realistic in character.

Shocker is a very underestimated villain. His sanity alone makes him interesting --- that's something most villains don't have.
Bendis ruined him a lot by creating that goofy jobber counterpart in the Ultimate Universe.

^ Agreed. I like The Shocker.

We know Spider Man movies has a bad record when they over-stuff with villains. People are wary. The Russo Brothers have been the best at juggling multiple antagonists in their Captain America movies. But not everyone can do it.
Yeah not a good move historically for this franchise. But will wait and see how they handle it.

They are seriously centering Spideys movie and villains around Stark? Are you fking kidding me?
It reads more like a tie-in than the sole plot of the film, which is fine as SM now exist in the MCU. Nothing wrong with a little homage, imo.
But yeah, will have to wait and see, who knows how far they'll push it. Not worried at this point and time.

Well the problem with Spider-man 3 at least was that none of the villains were connected at all and they were all over the place and popping in and out. However it seems like only Vulture will be a big villain here. Shocker has always been a petty criminal that never had a grand scheme. And Tinkerer is most likely just gonna be tech support. As Spectacular Spider-man showed, he's pretty much useless in an actual fight. He won't be a physical threat to Spider-man at all. His role will probably be similar to Zola/Collector.
Originally posted by RobtardYeah, but at this point it's making Spidey come off like he's Starks b*tch. As if Civil War wasn't bad enough with him running around calling him "Sir" and "Mr. Stark" and basically being at Tony's beck and call even to fight a public icon like Cap (which would have been fine if he eventually turned on Stark and came into his own, but he didn't), now they are going to have Spidey on clean up duty for Stark Industries. Their entire motivation seems to be getting at Stark. This seems a bit past homage.

IDK I don't like Stark hijacking Spideys rogue gallery. I was actually hoping they'd keep Stark waaaay the hell away from this movie, or at least restrict to a cameo. Keep Spidey's gallery centered around him.
I'm also seriously hating Spideys school cast so far. Here is Flash Thompson:
