Spider-Man: Homecoming

Really doubt the MCU is capable of making the level of a relationship Peter and Harry had in the Raimi films. They'd rather cram in useless characters like that fat asian kid and make more personal quips than that level of character development.

The MCU has shown with characters like Bucky and Cap, the Guardians etc. that they can explore those kinds of themes with more depth if they want to. Some people might just find introducing the Osborns somewhat jarring, considering their total absence in Homecoming. That being said, that could be easily fixed by a single line of dialogue in a future film. Just say that they'd previously been living somewhere else, and only recently moved to New York.

There'd be no harm in having Norman and Harry around even if they hold off on Green Goblin for a good long while.

Yeah I don't think the new Spider-Man particularly needs the Osbornes, but if they're written into the films in a new fresh way I'd be all for it.

What spidey does need tho is a new internship so maybe bring the daily bugle and j Jonah jameson into the mix. Peter Parker's next villain can be fake news

My thoughts about the movie(unmarked spoilers):
Good
* The first 10 mins
* The Vulture. Terrifying at times. Related to that
* Smart enough to know that he needs to stay low key. If not for one idiot in his group, nobody would have known about his work
* Right answer Pete
* Figuring out who Spidey is
* The trick he pulls at the warehouse
* Refusing to divulge the secret in the post credits
* Happy apologising for his mistake
* Spidey saving Liz's father
* How many more of this lol
* Spidey antics when trapped in the DC facility
* The homage to the rubble lifting scene
* Ned saving Pete
* Aaron instantly figuring out Pete's a newbie
* All RDJ/IM scene
* The unexpected entry of someone in the finale
* Liked that they did not shove in RDJ much

Bad
* Don't buy just those two could hack the suit
* Only a single gauntlet for the Shocker? Lame
* Not a fan of this May is o so hot by everyone
* Seriously, where is the Spider sense?
* Some things Pete does is seriously dumb and at times he looks pretty weak
* Insta-kill mode. Seriously Tony?
* All those gadgets in the suit takes it away from Pete
* Overall felt a little bland
* Liz' mom. Seriously, someone looking like Keaton can't get someone better looking? Would expect someone like Than die Newton
* FBI - of course point guns at Spider Man not the actual criminals
*

Was good.

Fat kid got was kinda annoying at times.....Lobby boy Flash....haermm
Vulture was cool, last battle was kinda meh.

Ned wasn't annoying at all.

Dejavu of Harry Potter or The Wonder Years because Peter, Ned, Liz, Flash, and all other characters are believable as high school students. Terrific because the past 2 versions all were believable as college students but not at all as high school students.

It's a amazing movie and on the mark for Spider Man.
Peter can't have a normal life because vulture and his crew are creating problems. Spider Man isa underdog because Tony Stark underestimates him. The wisecracks by Spider Man.
Topnotch with the homage with Spider Man having to lift the debris which if I recall right in mainstream continuity it was pipes bit still similar with it being 1 of the hardest obstacles which is why him lifting and standing is astounding and phenomenal.

Terrific that Ned wasn't just a comic relief he proved useful multiple times including when needed most. A amazing exciting climax with the Vulture having the huge advantage a technology suit and Spider Man doesn't have his terrific technology suit which is mostly a super swissarmy knife.

Also wonderful because the Vulture is a understandable super villain including why Adrian becomes a super villain but still is a unsympathetic super villain.
Also he's ruthless no lameass the villain ceases after realizing he's wrong.

So mostly a classic villain doing the wrong things for all the right reasons so reminds me of General Hummel of the amazing movie The Rock.

Also why the hell were pictures shown of Shocker wearing the costume when he never wears it in the movie?
Also he isn't shown much in the movie which is a colossal waste of a great adversary.

Ned was definitely annoying. I couldn't stand him constantly blurting Petes secrets. STFU kid

2nd worst 2nd weekend drop for a MCU film:

That's a big shame and doesn't bode well for Sony wanting the renew their deal with Marvel. Especially if the Venom movie does well next year.

Damn. 🙁

Looks like Spidey will have to work to shake off the last 3 films after all.

😄

Doubting the Venom movie will perform well, though. Hardy or no Hardy.

That's disappointing. I thought Spidey would tear shit up.

Worldwide he will though.

You always turn out to be wrong.

Don't count on it, juggyboy.

This is a great movie and I'm surprised by that huge drop, that's DC level shit right there.

Are people sick this is the 3rd different Spider-Man in 10 years?

It also has strong competition with Apes 3 releasing.

I wouldn't call that strong competition. That movie made under 60 million.

Yes Spidey needed a break for a good 10 years (like Star Wars had) before it could dominate the box office once more.

Unfortunately he'll never get that needed break because Sony would lose the rights.

I predict Venom will do 150 opening weekend. Tom Hardy is a draw. Just look at TDKR.
