I've recently finished playing Arkham Asylum for the first time. Never played any of the Arkham games before now. I've always liked Superman more than Batman but good Superman games are hard to find. What a fantastic game AA is.
Some of those combat challenges are really tough though. That's one game (of many) that I do not expect to get the platinum on.
Originally posted by TrocityEveryone at the time was playing FF7, but LoD was so unique and had a fantastic battle system, you couldn't just "press x" and hope for a high attack because of additions. Plus the Dragoon mode also needed to be set off with precise button presses.
LoD was an amazing game.
I just got into Helleva Prison (only ever finished disc 1 originally, so this'll be my first time really trying to beat it.)
As a sidenote, did you know Dart was going to be a DLC character for Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale?
I'm hoping one day they do a remake, my theory is that it didn't sell well which is why it never got a sequel, they did release it like a year before the PS2-era started after all.
Encounter rates, like many games of the era, can be annoying though, and exp is gained at a snail's pace.
For the record I think FF7 had a better story, but LoD has a way better turn-based battle system.
Sorry for the rambling, I just rarely find an opportunity to gush about LoD, lol.

PC, at the time I think I was using a 360 controller. Only did it one time, and can't speedrun it in a single go with no damage taken like some freaks of nature.
Its even more impressive you did it with a 360 gamepad, considering how bad their dpads are.
I'm using a PS2 controller configured through Joy2Key, and still struggled like mad through the basic sections. Ended up getting the R1 shoulder button completely stuck too, which I mapped the dash key to.
Actually, the harder parts of Hollow Knight really show the weaknesses of a controller. In the case of a PS2 pad, the dpad is stiff enough where it starts hurting your fingers, unlike the 360 pad..
FINALLY! Got that *******.
The moves themselves aren't so bad once you get used to them, its the relentlessness, one after another after another. No downtime at all between attacks, the pressure gets to you.
Barely even registered I beat him, that's how much of a robot I was playing like. Less a "Yaay" and more a "Huh?"
Heretic II on PC. Even though it came out in 1998 I still find this game fun.

Also, its weird to me that other people play Hollow Knight on consoles other than the Switch. I recognize that it was originally a PC game that was ported to Switch, but it feels like such a Switch game...

It definitely has a "Nintendo house" quality to it. Can't put my finger on what it is exactly, whether its the ambient music, the cutesy sleek designs, the environments, or how it all comes together. But I get the same magic feeling as the best Nintendo games.
That said, they say the switch controller isn't ideal, and you'd want to buy one of the better pads.

Has anyone ever played Tyranny? It's an RPG on the PC that came out in 2016. One unique thing about it is that your character creation involves the ability to do a "conquest" mode. You see the game begins with your side(the bad guys) having won a war. Conquest mode is an optional thing you can do to personalize the storyline, since you can choose from a bunch of different choices that you made during the war, including allies, etc. This will play into how the game unfolds. It was created by the same people who created Pillars of Eternity. I have it on GOG, but you can find it on Steam too, both places charge $29.99 for the vanilla version of the game.

I got that game too a while back off ebay
kinda bs how some of the people at the time hated on it for it not being the same the other games in the franchise.
Traitor Lord was a pain in a butt for a mainline boss. I understand they buffed him up because he used to be a pushover, think they went a little bit overboard. I read people took 50 tries to beat him, who breezed through some Dream bosses.
I took about five-six tries total myself. Shape of Unn made a huge difference.
Poor Cloth.
So think I've been up and down Queens Garden now, even got the grub worm thing and love key. Still not sure where to take the delicate flower. Best guess is this casket looking thing where all the hoppers, but I doubt it.

**** it, I just cheated.
Damned background thorns. I bet I'm the only one who couldn't tell those thorns surrounding the entrance were in the background, and wrote off the area as inaccessible.

This looks good. May try it.
