For Troupe Master or Nightmare King? For the latter, I've found its easiest to down him with a
Spoiler:
spell-heavy build. Shaman stone, Spell twister, Soul Eater, and Sharp Shadow. Just focus on dodging, hit him for soul when he throws the fireballs, and smack him with abyss shriek whenever he summons the fire pillars. GG EZ.
Maybe it's better not to read if you want to enjoy the challenge, though. 😖hifty:

Thanks. 🙂
I'm fine with tactical build advice, just no pattern data. That I like to work out myself.
I'm only on base NKG at the moment. Only 7 notches (9 total, minus Grimm Child) to work with, I had a pretty asymmetrical run and am probably missing a lot of upgrades I should have now.
Got the pure nail, only one Dreamer in the bag, have yet to complete the bee hive or find the shade cloak. About 60-70 hours in, but a lot of that was spent grinding up geo, then losing it, early game. Plus the Soul Tyrant win.
Think I proved my mettle beating him with only a once upgraded nail, five notches, five or so masks, few charms. Won't be doing that again, it took FOREVER. Reached a point where I was thinking about other things or having entire conversations, because it all became muscle memory. Each attempt was like 15 minutes because I did so little damage, and kept dropping the ball at the very end.

I'm playing Assassin's Creed 2. The series never really interested me until recently and I'm having a blast tbh.
II is awesome sauce.
Black Flag is awesome sauce with pie ala mode.
Flag stands on its own as a pirate game, with a sprinkling of lore for the completionist, so feel free to skip III (People ONLY play it for the lore) and jump to 4 if you want.

Base? NKG is NKG. Unless you mean Troupe Master Grimm. The only upgraded NKG fights are in Godhome.
I meant the non dream form. Just before the final flame collection, and the offer to banish them. I have no intention of banishing them.. Went to enough trouble to bring them here. 🙂
I beat him, btw. Wasn't so bad once I got the patterns down, and he folds fast to pure nail + unbreakable strength + quickslash.
On the trip to one of the flames, I decided to pass through the hidden stag station by way of the Ancient Basin, stumbled onto what the Kings Crest is for, and got my Shade Cloak. 👆
Lost Kin still kicks my butt though.
I know I'm not exactly the fastest gamer, but I don't get how some first time gamers claim they got all the upgrades within the first five hours.
I mean, some of the areas can set you back a good two hours simply exploring every nook and cranny. You'd almost have to know where the Shade Cloak is in advance, as exploring for it should set you back way more then five hours. You also need to ace the bosses, and frankly I could spend a good hour just doing that.
I feel like such an *******.
I beat Lost Kin by hiding out in the top of the screen and using Weaversong. 😈
Not even something I needed to do, Defenders Crest made the battle a lot easier. I just wanted to know if I could cheese with minions. Actually managed to lock the Glowing Womb spawns out of the room, and eventually one of the spiders glitched on the door, but by then it was easy to finish him with the pure nail.
It was fun, even if I burned up my hardcore cred with that move.

Could be they use online guides?
Good question...they do play similarly for sure. However, I enjoyed Greece a lot more than Eygpt.
But I find Odyssey a step more in the direction of RPG than Origins...and I prefer the story and content as well. I found Origins a good first step on re-imaging the series while Odyssey is more polished.
It also has ship combat and I find exploring significantly better. It's a small step but Oydessey gives you the option to turn off all the icons and give you clues to find a location...which surprisingly makes it better. It also adds a very good Shadow Of Mordor Nemsesis-lite system for the assassinations you need to do...
