FYI- Sulu had a family and was married with a child in the Original timeline (As seen in Generations), and I think that kind of bothers Takei that sexuality is something that can just switch like that in a new timeline.

I honestly have no hopes for the film with Pegg having so much input. My prediction it will be the worst if this new Trek trilogy:

No one else on this entire forum has supported Snoke. Lots have sucked on the nuts of Kylo. The guys I like aren't massively popular like Roberta's crushes. Batman for **** sake.

The problem with that, is that the actor says he was intended to be straight. Takei knew Roddenberry personally. If anyone would know, it's Takei.

It isn't as ambiguous as say, some comics characters.

He was straight in that timeline. He had a daughter (with a Wife presumably).

Demora on the Enterprise B, yeah, though iirc they never said he had a wife. They said he had a family, and while sure, the default is to assume it was with a wife, I think what Takei says himself is better confirmation.
