From the preview of next episode though, you still see Gohan going regular super saiyan, so no mystic, and him getting blinded on top of that... facepalm He may still win, but it's just more of the same of Toriyama and Toei shitting on him; may never stop, who knows.
Don't think they'll let Gohan pull out his best in the beginning matches. Goku probably won't even transform against the last opponent. We will see these characters best during the main tournament.

Except power levels have been inconsistent and if Roshi can win fights its either gonna have some weak characters or power levels are gonna be changed for flavor.
Good episode. Those from U9 (Kai said they are the best from U9) probably aren't close to Goku level. The warrior from U11 seems to be the real deal.

Goku is the best for me in DB (behind Black of course), but wouldn't mind Gohan surpassing him and then of course going back to study.

How about a consistent direction for his character? Either be a fighter for the long haul or don't be one at all. And some of y'all have been saying for quite awhile that Gohan will get better again, etc, only for him to still disappoint or for me to loathe seeing him again... One of the false prophets here even said he would beat Hit, so forgive my current skepticism. lol He was one of my favorite characters in Z, but gave up on him quite awhile ago honestly. Will just have to see if the next episode(s) justify that or not, but from what the preview of ep 80 showed, he still getting lowballed. smh

True, they're all over the place in this show. Power scaling's consistency got ruined at least since Golden Frieza.

Maybe he just doesn't have his mystic form, in the sense that he hasn't fully unlocked his current potential, but his current SSJ form is still overall stronger than he was in his mystic form during the Buu arc. That's how I see it, anyways.

To be fair.. That's really how Z Goku has been since the start. He wanted Vegeta to live because fight again. Kept trying to let Freeza live to fight again. Fat Buu he didn't finish off because he had told Trunks and Goten fusion. Probably would have let Kid Buu live if he was friendly towards Goku.
